DJ Smoove and M!A!C first met in 1997, when they were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, whilst shopping at Remix Records in Camden. They immediately bonded due to their passion for dance music, hugely influenced by listening to Dream 107.6FM.
DJ Smoove, under the name Darren T at the time, was lucky enough to get involved with a number of pirate radio stations early on and shortly after, introduced M!A!C to one of them. From their radio contacts and clear talent for DJ'ing, both M!A!C and Smoove were noticed, and began playing out in several bars and clubs.
The boys didn't want to be just DJ's though. They wanted to be involved with the dance music scene as much as possible and so turned their sights to producing. It didn't take long for a studio to be booked and a collaboration with Dub Conspiracy for them to release their debut track; ..Summer Breeze...
Now they needed a name. And with a combination of two words, the boys agreed on a name which describes an act that is not just interested in one style, but influenced by every genre of dance music.."CENTRAL DANCE".
From here, Central Dance went on to join one of the South East's biggest pirate radio stations' (Soundz 94.3FM), they collaborated with Online Productions to release their highly rated track (Mystery) and still at a very young age, have truckloads of projects and material in the pipeline.
