Our Amazing Instructors for the SUMMER BELLY FAIR 2007 !!
 ---Zhaleh Fereshteh, also known as the "Diva of Shimmies",an instructor since 1982, has taught seminars throughout the Southeastern United States. She specializes in teaching isolation, shimmy and abdominal techniques, zill musicology, performance psychology, ethnic dance, and Middle Eastern Dance History. Zhaleh has been a student of the finest teachers the Middle East and the USA has had to offer and is continually studying with the best instructors in the world of Middle Eastern Dance. Zhaleh is one of those rare teachers from whose classes, dancers come away with new knowledge, perspective, and skills. Her instructional format combines clear and precise breakdown of technique and attentive application to creating dynamic combinations that build on the dancer's musical interpretation and increase the repertoire of movements for improvised or choreographed routines. Zhaleh's unique teaching style challenges and inspires students of all levels, from beginner to advanced and professional.

Sharifa Asmar became acquainted with Middle Eastern bellydance in college...and they've been inseperable ever since. Sharifa is known for her authentic Oriental style, technique and musicality. Her vivacious love of people and passion for life shine through her dance. As an instructor, Sharifa shares her knowledge and experience without reserve. She has no "trade secrets". Her teaching emphasizes strong Middle Eastern dance basics as the springboard for each individual dancer's creativity. While her repertoire is extensive, Sharifa might say the music and dance of Egypt's Saidi are her favorite right now and most fun !!
Sharifa's travels have taken her across North America, to the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East. Her own passion for the dance is constantly renewed with internationally- known dancers and dance
masters from California to Cairo, Egypt. Sharifa speaks several languages and on her days off from dance, sometimes teaches university-level history.
