The history of Central Park is long and interesting – and probably one of the most unusual of the German rock scene: founded in 1983 and up to their split in 1989, the band managed to play themselves right “to the top of the German Prog-Rock league” (Keys). 2006 came the completely unexpected reunion, accompanied by the release of the double CD/DVD “unexpected”- the debut album 23 (!) years after the band was founded. The extensive feedback in the media made the band the most visible German Prog-Rock band in its countries magazines and newspapers in the fall of that year. Amongst other accolades, “unexpected” can boast a 3 star review by Rolling Stone and even Kultur Spiegel wrote that “hipster Vincent Gallo would enjoy the majestic debut”.
An excerpt of the concerts the band has played since their reunion speaks volumes: as the opener for former Marillion Singer FISH on his German tour, the band could wow the audience in the same fashion as they did with their guest performance on the Loreley (Night of the Prog) or the Burg Herzberg Festival.
The new album “reflected” will surprise many fans as the ingredients of the record are quite something: anthem-like, Crimsonesque, metallic, orchestral and futuristic. Genre boundaries? Those are unknown because the band no longer has to prove anything. Variation is guaranteed – both in the studio and live on stage. Music that can be felt – hand-made and full of energy. In 2010, CENTRAL PARK – free of trend-depending dictates – is a delicacy for friends of the unusual: music by people who love the freedom to have their personalities and their souls reflected in the musical cross-section of their lives.

.."Königsklasse der Rockmusik" - so bezeichnet der Musikexpress in seiner Januarausgabe 2010 den Stil "Progressive Rock". Und exakt in diesem Genre bewegt sich die Münchner Band CENTRAL PARK – individuell und stilübergreifend. Seit Sommer 2010 mit Jannine Pusch als neuer Frontfrau, mit der nicht nur eine Ausnahmesängerin zur Band kam, sondern auch neue Impulse für Veränderung und Weiterentwicklung. Daher klingt CENTRAL PARK 2010 anders als vermutet und ist der gelungene Spagat zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft!

Jahre nach Bandgründung! Das enorme Medienfeedback machte die Band nach dem Release von "unexpected" zur sichtbarsten deutschen Progband im Herbst 2006 in den hiesigen Magazinen und Zeitungen. U.a. gab es 3 Sterne vom Rolling Stone und selbst der Kultur Spiegel schrieb „Hipster Vincent Gallo hätte seine Freude am majestätischen Debüt“.
Ein Auszug der Konzerte, die die Band seit der Reunion spielte, spricht für sich selbst: Als Opener für ex-Marillion-Sänger FISH auf seiner Deutschland-Tournee konnte die Band das Publikum ebenso in ihren Bann ziehen wie bei ihren Gastspielen auf der Loreley (Night of the Prog) oder beim Burg Herzberg Festival.
Das neue Album „reflected“ wird so manchen Fan überraschen, denn die Zutaten für den Longplayer haben es in sich: Hymnisches, Crimsoneskes, Metallisches, Orchestrales und Futuristisches. Genreschranken? Mitnichten, denn Central Park muss sich selbst nichts mehr beweisen. Abwechslung garantiert – im Studio wie auch live auf der Bühne. Musik zum Fühlen – handgemacht und voller Energie. Losgelöst von trendabhängigen Diktaten ist CENTRAL PARK 2010 eine Delikatesse für Freunde des Außergewöhnlichen – Musik von Menschen, die die Freiheit genießen, ihre Persönlichkeit und ihre Seele in der musikalischen Schnittmenge ihres Lebens zu reflektieren.
