Contrary to popular belief, we don't take our jobs seriously *all* the time. Drive past us on B in Amherst and you may see us launching water balloons at, what seems to be, the ever-present passing train. We also have been known to hold "Half-Barrel Hurling" contests outside. Don't worry people, they are empty when thrown, although we do a good job moving around the full ones!
Music
Personal music tastes aside, here are a few songs that we find give our brewery inspiration: "the Beer Barrel Polka," "An Hour and a Six Pack," "Bottles of Black Porter," "Long Neck Connected to the Beer Joint," "Red Hot Women and Ice Cold Beer," "Show Up Naked and Bring Beer," "1st Beer of the Day, and "Champagne Taste and a Beer Bankroll." The list of timeless classics could go on and on but we just don't have the time to list them all.
Movies
The 1985 classic "BEER," starring Rip Torn, whoever the hell that is.
Television
The History of Prohibition, American Ales, and How It's Made. You see, us guys are so darn focused on making great beers for everyone else to enjoy, we rarely have time to watch tv.
Books
The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, Fearless Brewing: The Beer Maker's Bible, and The Little Black Book of Beer, of course.
Heroes
We have a lot of heros. We have personal and professional heros but to make this as easy as possible, we will list who are NOT our heros...We don't admire the micro-breweries that have sold-out. Easy enough, huh? We aren't that hard to impress, really.

So I picked up a case of the Bourbon Aged Stout before I left town over the holidays (thanks for *trying* to get some to me!)... I've been milking it along. It's so good I want it every day and I want it to never run out! I love that stuff! Nice work!
Congratulations on your Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival! Keep on showing the world that the best beers in the world are coming from right here in the Midwest! Cheers! Michael and the crew from MidwestMicroBrews
