Now before you go any further you must know in all fairness my core beliefs and what I stand for. I feel this is important because I won't have the chance to meet you in person, so I felt a quick review of my core beliefs may help put things in perspective for you about me.
First, I believe honesty and truth are the producers of all that's good in life. And it should be shared with all those willing to accept it. Knowledge is power and we can all use a little extra knowledge and power in our life.
Second, I believe that secrets should not be kept for greed. No one likes it when two people are whisperring while looking at you. Now imagine if one of them were charging you for it as well.
Third, I believe in integrity. If you confide and trust in me for help then thats exactly what you will get until your problems are solved, GUARANTEED. Lending a helping hand is how the bonds that build life long friends are created.
Fourth, I believe in you! You have the power to control all that goes on in your life. That's real power!
If you share these same core beliefs, then I am delighted to have met you! I believe this is a start to a great friendship.
Hello, my name is Mike Allen. I have been involved with the termite control industry in Southern California for 19 years and currently own Century Termite Control. I am the author of TOP SECRETS OF THE TERMITE INDUSTRY. But before I talk anymore about this I'd like to introduce myself and tell you a little about me and my family.
I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago. I have a younger brother, Spencer, who is a great guy and also in the termite industry. My parents moved us to an area outside Houston, Texas when I was 12 where I attended high school through my junior year. Then we relocated to Southern California about 14 miles from the Rose Bowl. I have now lived in Southern California for 21 years. I love it here!
In my junior year I met the love of my life, Jeni. We have been married for 18 years. Lauren, our 15 (going on 30) year old daughter is a Sophomore in high school. We live in a small community nestled in the foothills called Glendora, CA. We share our home with three loveable Labrador Retrievers.
Most of my wife's family worked in the Termite and Pest Control industry since the invention of baseball, it seems. I began working for her uncle's fumigation company immediately after high school. My wife's uncle, Clarence, knows everything you need to know about our industry. I say he is a Master Guru! He is a wonderful mentor and taught me everything I know. Boy, was that hard work back then! But I needed a job and he was willing to teach me. I attended the Advanced Institute of Pest Technology. I am a Master Graduate and became licensed.
After I had absorbed all that I could from him he said " Your ready, young gator!" He called all fumigators, gators. I opened my termite company and to date I have helped thousands of homeowners rid their homes of wood destroying invaders and solve their termite problems!
I really enjoy my hobbies. Which are first, inventing and experimenting. I have a few inventions for the termite industry that are currently in the works for patent rights. I love to cook, listen to blues, jazz and classic rock. I love red wine and long drives along the pacific coast stopping at all the wonderful cities along the way. Especially San Francisco. I enjoy golfing and boating. I like fast cars, hot rods and Harley's. I picked up playing the bass guitar about 10 years ago, not that great yet, but enjoy practicing. I love to travel and get away to places like Newport Beach, the river in Laughlin and the shows in Las Vegas!
I love meeting new people and talking one on one. I have had the pleasure on the job, of meeting or seeing some really great people. I will mention a few, I'm not bragging, just proud to say that I've met Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santana, Eddie Murphy, The Black Eyed Peas & Fergie (my sister -in-law works with them since way back). Sean Penn and Madonna when they were still married. Oh, and my wife and I won a radio contest and flew private jet style with Duran Duran! I can't even tell you how many famous peoples' houses I've done termite work on, but living near Hollywood and Malibu there has been alot. None of these people are relevant though.
What is relevant is that I've been asked a thousand times " Can I treat termites myself?" and " Is there anything else besides toxic poisons to kill them?" Some people actually said they would rather leave the termites in their walls than expose their family to chemicals. I pondered over these questions for years and started experimenting with different items easy for homeowners to obtain. I used infested pieces of wood I removed from my clients' homes to try my remedies on. I came up with several recipes for homemade remedies that anyone could use themselves, in any situation, that kills on contact and keeps them away for good, GUARANTEED!
I also realized there was so much great stuff available at hardware stores across the nation for homeowners to use. Yet there is no explaination available explaining how to properly use these products and why they even need to use these products. Some of these products are dangerous if used incorrectly. There is a book available at hardware stores that explain how to complete other household repairs. They even have books that explain how to atract butterflys and birds. There is not one book out there that explains how to eradicate a termite problem safely and effectivly on your own! Until now!
To say the least I was amazed at the results of my tests. I did not share this information with any of my collegues. What I came up with was to combine all of my studies and add to them the best guarded sworn secrets of the termite industry. I decided I wanted to try and help every homeowner myself, to the best of my ability, with their termite problems. I want to show homeowners how to identify evidence and how they can treat the area themselves. I also want to be there for them when they have a unique situation that I can provide a solution for. I can show homeowners across the nation how they could possibly avoid ever signing a termite contract again. I wrote a manual with easy to comprehend instructions that the Do It Yourself homeowner can use.
I completed my research and allowed several homeowners to review my information and put it to the test. They were speechless, many of them wrote to me thanking me for saving them hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars. They became educated about their investment and how they could protect it from wood destroying invaders. I made them a professional to their own situations.
Picture this, a customer called me out to her home because she had a Subterranean Termite problem. It was a very established infestation in her dining room of all places. Mud viens were shooting straight out of her baseboards, weaving in and out of her decorative moulding, right next to where they eat!
I explained to her the extent of her termite problems and I also explained the method in which I would apply pesticide to eliminate the critters and keep them away. She looked me straight in the eye and said "unless there is another way besides pesticide, these termites will have to stay. I will not allow my family to be exposed to insecticides or pesticides of any kind. When I move I will take care of them then."
WOW! Now wait a minute here. I'm a termite guy, all I have been taught was how to use pesticides and poisons according to their manufacturers label. So of course my answer was. "Sorry, I can't help you."
I told her that her problem would continue to grow over that period, eventually making it all the way to her attic. I told her about the possible damage that could happen that could be very costly to repair when the time came. She did not care, it wasn't worth the risk to her.
That did it! That bugged me to no end. My customer would rather leave wood destroying insects in her wall than apply pesticides in the ground near her family. Why hadn't anyone looked into alternative all natural remedies to eradicate termites. There must be something. I thought about it. I started bringing infested wood removed from client properties to my shop for experiments. I wanted to see just exactly what would kill termites and more importantly, what would keep them away? I couldn't beleive all of the things that would kill a termite, including water. But those things wouldn't keep them away. What was the real trick here?
I realized that everyone involved with termite erradication was kept ignorant. The homeowner and ME, the termite guy! I had been programmed all these years to buy pesticides and convince my customers it was okay to apply it in their walls and in the earth. Although applied correctly according to the label, I was still applying poison!
I completely changed my way of thinking when it came to erradicating termites and I found what I was looking for. The two reasons termites exist and then figured in the common factors that promote healty termite infestations to begin in the first place.
It became appearant that I should share this information with homeowners across the nation. Since the customer I mentioned earlier, I have been approached countless times with the same exact question: "Is there anything I can do myself that is not a pesticide"?
I am happy to say YES! So now I have decided to release this information to the public for a limited time just to see what happens...
All homesowners concerned about their investment! If you own your own home and have questions just send me a comment. Lets see if I can help.

I just did another YouTube video, yeah I suck at doing videos but I think it's got some good information for you if you rent out your house. I talk about the form called the Thirty Day Termination Of Lease. Basically you fill out this form if your tenant notifies you that they are going to move or you want them out at the end of the lease. I also show you the wording on a stamp that you can add to the form that is awesome. It has increased my collections about 50% which is huge. A little fear tactics ;) If this sort of thing interests you, you can check out the video on YouTube at http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=nkhviemqd-Q or in my profile, the bottom video. Thanks Mike and feel free to comment me with how much I suck at making videos...LOL.. Hey, at least the information is sort of good even though the delivery is really bad ;)
Hi Mike. I uploaded a video to YouTube that I thought you might like where I fill out a Three Day Notice To Pay Rent Or Quit. I screw up on places in the video, whatever. You can see the video in my profile on the left side of the screen, bottom video. I think the biggest thing that scares people is that they don't want to rent out their house because they are afraid what is going to happen if they move in a bad tenant who doesn't pay the rent. This form is so easy to fill out and serve and that fear really isn't justified. I just don't understand why some people, who are dictated by fear, would rather lose their home in foreclosure or let it sit vacant until they can sell it just because they are afraid of a bad tenant. Check out the video and comment me back if you have time. Other than going to my profile, you can just view it straight on YouTube at http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=cQEROajYBhw
Hi Mike. I posted a new article on my blog about probably the most common question I get, and frankly I'm pretty sick of getting asked it. No offense but if you are asked any question enough, you're like GAG me already! Anyways, the question is "What do I do if my tenant doesn't pay the rent?" Here's a link to my new blog post if you are interested in this subject. What do you do when your tenant does not pay the rent?
What would you do if your renter put a political sign in the front yard? Nothing is probably the right answer. Check this news snip out. I agree with the attorney who said, "Landlords have the right to put provisions in their lease as long as it's not discriminatory." So in otherwords you can't ban McCain signs but allow Obama signs or vice-versa. Here's the news snip.
A Springfield renter says her political preference is being silenced- right outside her own home.
She’s been told to take down her campaign signs or find another place to live. Beth Richards rents an apartment at The Greens, a northeast Springfield community. She says she put two political yard signs in the little garden just outside her front door. They were there- problem-free- for at least two months, suddenly The Greens told Richards she was violating the rules.
"They said if you keep the signs up we'll keep giving you warnings until you're evicted." It’s no surprise the 2008 presidential election is swarming with controversy, but Beth Richards can't believe a 12 by 8 inch campaign sign- not the candidates- is at the center of it. An assistant manager at The Greens apartments left a note on Richards' door last week asking her to remove the signs.
Richards says she argued the sign is damaging the ground.
If that’s a concern, Richards claims her family is far from the only offender. They have statues, flowers, garden decorations..."
She took pictures of all the other objects her neighbors have in the lawns around their apartments, none of which, she says, cause any less damage than a placard.
KSPR with Lindsey Management, the Arkansas company that oversees The Greens, by phone.
We were told the issue is simply signs, section 9 of the Richards' lease prohibits them.
We took a look at section 9 of the lease and it specified only things like walkways, sidewalks, and stairwells needed to be cleared of things that
