Chen style (fast and slow, more aggressive) T'ai Chi, singing, trumpet, guitar, languages, (I speak a little French, Czech, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Russian) off-roading, mental health, radical subversive political ranting, martial arts, communing with nature, cannabis, nei gung, random acts of kindness, forcefully correcting fucked-up attitudes, uninhibited personal expression, surfing, ocean kayaking, companionship, solitude, flying (have 2 hours in a Cessna).....soon-scuba, skydiving, hang gliding
Music
Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Stone Temple Pilots, System of a Down, Dizzy Gillespie, Jefferson Airplane. Much love to my boys in up and coming bands Point Zero and Large Lump Sum (find them in my friends). I like any rock that comes from a "real" place creatively. I love jazz and blues-play the trumpet in that vein-and cultural music. From there it's hit-and-miss across the spectrum. I won't say "I love all kinds of music" because I don't. I love from music from across genres and across the globe, but I don't like watered-down bubble gum tracks churned out by a maniacal "unit-moving" machine that is more interested in market study than artistic truth in ANY genre from ANY where. Same with any jerk-off who starts a band to "get chicks" or "get rich". If that's all they want out of life, power to them and I hope it works out. I don't have time in my life to listen, is all.
Movies
American Beauty, Snatch, Braveheart, Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas, Pink Floyd's The Wall, Fight Club, Scarface, Half Baked. Anything without Tom Cruise. Semi-paranoid radical leftist subversive anti-establishment documentaries are always a hit with me, as well as anything that celebrates indigenous cultures and music, like One Giant Leap (see it!). I love movies, like music, when they derive from a true artistic vision through real creative endeavour. I am so disgusted by the vast majority of the shameless prefabricated cookie cutter money-whorring attempts to please crowds being schlocked off the Hollywood assembly line that it gives me second thoughts about pursuing film acting as a career. Once again, as in music, if making that senseless babble makes someone happy and makes them some money, by all means let them follow their own path. Just don't expect me to rot my intellect from the inside out by exposing myself to that banality. But I do see occasional gems sneaking through the popcorn net that give me hope all is not yet lost.
Television
I'm waaaay behind in TV Land.....don't have any time! I prefer to spend what few leisure hours I have watching films. I do love Comedy Central, though-especially Dave Chapelle and John Stewart, and I will watch educational shows like the grown-up geek I am. (Watch out for cleverly disguised propoganda.)
Books
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas-Hunter S. Thompson, L'Etranger (The Stranger)-Albert Camus, like to read Stanislavsky for acting. Currently reading the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tze-the foundational tome of Daoism and a great source of wisdom, and No Acting Please by my former acting teacher Eric Morris. (He rocks, well worth the money I don't have to take his class!) I hope to squeeze in time to read 1984 and A Brave New World soon.
Heroes
The common people of the world who fight every day for freedom from oppression
and freedom of expression in a world where both are being slipped out from underneath us. This fight is worldwide and it's right here at home. Those who raise their fist and raise their voice to help those who are downtrodden, those who are downtrodden and raise their fists and voices for themselves and their families. These people are my truest inspiration.

Who I'd like to meet: Chief Crowfoot, Alan Watts, Lao Tze, Timothy Leary, people in the film industry, people who have something to say, people who have something to keep to themselves, people who are real, people who use their minds, people who peek under the surface of "reality" to see what more may be, people unafraid to stand up for the rights of man, people brave enough to speak truth...
