Ceremony of Opposites was formed in 2005 by As, Pascal and Marcel. Sander was recruited as the drummer and in September 2005 the demo demo “The Fear Within” was recorded. At the end of 2006 the band re-entered the studio to record the first full length CD, called “Death’s Dominion”.
The style of the band is death-metal combined with influences from a.o. thrash-, viking- and black metal. In the songs you can hear the love the bandmembers have for bands like Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy. “Death’s Dominion” is a step forward in the musical development of the band. No more clean vocals and stepping up the pace, without loosing the melodic aspect in the music. In Januari 2009 the EP “Seeds of Ressurection” has been recorded. The EP is the next step in the bands musical development.
The CD as well as the demo were supported by a lot of live shows. Ceremony of Opposites is well known for their energetic live shows and interaction with the audience. Ceremony of Opposites has shared the stage with a.o. After Forever, Born from Pain, Hail of Bullets, Sinister, Torture Squad and Trail of Tears. One of the highlights was the band’s performance at the Metalcamp-festival 2008 in Slovenia with bands like Arch Enemy, Iced Earth, Ministry and Morbid Angel.
In July 2009 the EP “Seeds of Ressurection” was realeased and, as before, supported by a lot of live mayhem. See you on the road!! With Tim Verheijden behind the drumkit!
BAND BIOGRAFIE
Ceremony of Opposites is in 2005 opgericht door As, Pascal en Marcel. In de persoon van Sander werd een drummer gevonden en in september 2005 werd de demo “The Fear Within” opgenomen. De band is eind 2006 weer de studio ingedoken om haar eerste full length CD, genaamd “Death’s Dominion”, op te nemen.
De stijl van de band is het best te omschrijven als death metal met invloeden uit o.a. de thrash-, viking- en black metal. In de nummers hoor je de liefde die de bandleden hebben voor bands als Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Amon Amarth en Arch Enemy. “Death’s Dominion” laat horen dat de band zich muzikaal heeft ontwikkeld. De cleane vocalen zijn verdwenen en de snelheid is opgevoerd, zonder daarbij het melodieuze uit het oog te verliezen. In januari 2009 is de EP “Seeds of Ressurection” opgenomen. Deze EP is de volgende stap in de muzikale ontwikkeling.
Zowel de demo als de CD werden ondersteund door vele live-optredens. De band heeft een live-reputatie opgebouwd waarbij vooral de wisselwerking tussen band en publiek wordt genoemd. Ceremony of Opposites heeft het podium gedeeld met o.a. After Forever, Born from Pain, Detonation, Hail of Bullets, Sinister, Torture Squad en Trail of Tears. Een van de hoogtepunten was het optreden op Metalcamp 2008 in Slovenië met o.a. Arch Enemy, Iced Earth en Morbid Angel.
In juli 2009 is de EP “Seeds of Ressurection” uitgekomen en zal weer ondersteund worden door een groot aantal live-shows. Sander Jabobs heeft de band verlaten en zijn plek op de drumkruk zal ingenomen worden door Tim Verheijden.
