Cerronato plays an authentic yet innovative version of Colombian vallenato and cumbia. Their poignant and energetic music attracts a diverse fan base of young and old, many of who dance enthusiastically to Cerronato’s lively, captivating sound. That sound merges ornate, tantalizing melodies from the accordion (Mike Maddux), with quirky bass (Brad Taylor), the eccentric syncopation of the scraper (Gustavo Manzur), the steady beat of the drum and the frenzied flourishes of the bongo (Clemencia Zapata). Fiel al origen de sus profundas raíces musicales en la historia colombiana, Austin, Tejas grupo Cerronato interpreta música para la gente que le gusta vivir apasionadamente, atesorando cada momento – especialmente los momentos de celebración.. En cada actuación, Cerronato recrea el espíritu ferviente de la parranda colombiana (que consiste en una reunión desenfrenada y rebelde).
Cerronato interpreta los tradicionales y contemporáneos vallenatos y cumbias colombianos, está adquiriendo una audiencia cada vez mayor y muy entusiasta. Su música vigorosa y alegre atrae público de todas las edades quienes disfrutan y bailan al ritmo fascinante de Cerronato. La riqueza de acordes gira entre las claras y tentadoras melodías del acordeón (Mike Maddux), que se combinan con las notas caprichosas del bajo eléctrico (Brad Taylor), con el excéntrico compás de la guacharaca (Gustavo Manzur), con el sonido uniforme de la “caja, y con el agitado ritmo que emerge del bongó (Clemencia Zapata).
