About me: Ever since Israel retaliated to the Hamas rocket attacks, I have been saying that Israel has been increasingly losing its sense of proportion in dealing with Gaza. Sadly, I believe that the United States national elections have encouraged Israel's increasing aggressiveness in its foreign relations; every candidate striving to prove that they will support Israel more than the other. The Bush administration will be remembered not only for 9-11, not only for the Wall Street meltdown, not only for bringing Darth Vader into the White House, but for being the only administration in post-WWII history to take such a lazy, uninterested and wholly immoral position on the violence in Gaza. Bush's entire Middle East policy revolved around OIL. Now the people (civilians) of Gaza and Israel are paying that price, while Syria, Iran and others gain strength from the slaughter being perpetuated on the Palestinian people.

Hmmm what about me? Well, basically I am a 45-year old white pagan veteran liberal female who refuses to grow up, and refuses to fit into the nice muss-free mold society has tried to arrange for me. You know what I think about molds? Just look at the name; you let yourself into one and that's just what you become; moldy and stagnant.
My philosophy
I am an Earth Woman. My energy comes from the Earth and its spirits. There is no limit to what can be accomplished when one is aligned with the ultimate Mother. I call myself InaWin in some circles, and while Ina is used in Lakota language for a physical mother, it encompasses the active power of the Earth.
An Earth Woman is a steward. One could call me a Druid in a sense, but much more elemental than that. I feel the connection with Her so deeply, that at times I feel physical pain when I see Her, or one of Her creatures injured by man; I abhor the abuse of animals, either by casual cruelty, or the corporate cruelty of animal testing, or megafarms. I abhor the war in Iraq, not only because it is a war based on lies, but in terms of the destruction of the Earth and her children. We are in danger of losing so much more than oil.
It took a long while to come to know where my calling came from; I've searched Wicca, Buddhism, Shamanism, Paganism, Lakota spirituality, and Fundamentalist Christianity (still recovering from that one)
I've despaired of ever meeting a god, then despaired that I would. But looking back, I know now that it was always the Earth calling me. For me, there is no need of a god, to tell me what is right and what is wrong. Just about everyone who's walked a Pagan path knows:
"If that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee, thou wilt never find it without. For behold, I have been with thee from the beginning."
To most Pagans, that is the Goddess speaking, but to me it is Mother Earth. Because I come from the Earth, all that is within the Earth is within me.
This can make for some difficult personality traits. I am fiercely protective of those who I consider under my protection; my employees, my friends, my partner, my animal friends, and the earth. I can be oversensitive to the suffering all over the earth, and hyperfocused on that suffering to the point that I internalize it. But I know that if I simply rest on the earth; she symbolizes not only life, but balance; then I will eventually find my path again.
The Earth is the ultimate healer, and I believe if we watch Her, we will eventually become healers ourselves.
I like computer games, PSP, MP3, all types of electronics, ebooks, DVDs. I have been dubbed the "digital pagan". I've finally come to terms with the grey in my hair because it's coming in mostly at the temples and it looks cool when my hair is at the right length.
I'm still infuriated and in grief over 9/11 and urge everyone to NEVER FORGET! I hold heartfelt liberal values; justice, law, honor and peace. I also hold some decidedly un-progressive opinions: I support the death penalty, I support the NRA. If you want to know more about my views, read my blog:

I am an amateur photographer, and find it amazing how strongly that craft connects me with the earth and its spirits.
