Solo guitar Cesar Medel with occasional band members (Bass - percussion)
Influences
Most of his influences are his family, parents, his teachers Ximena Matamoros and Antonio Rioseco, and the music of great musicians such as Paul Wilbur, Paul Baloche, John Williams, Gipsy Kings and many others, also he loves and appreciates the music of Lorena Mckenitt, Enya and other celtic musicians.
Music has played an important role on the life of guitarist and composer Cesar Medel, who began to experience music himself at a very young age.
Introduced to the guitar music by his father, he began the adventure that later became a life dedicated to share the value of music for guitar.
He entered the Hizidor Handler K Conservatory of Music of Viña del Mar; there he began his study of classical guitar with Professor Ximena Matamoros, who helped him to develop a style and an identity of his own for interpreting the guitar. At that time he also came to know Sergio Vilchez, the Director of the Conservatory, with whom he still shares a great friendship. In his later years of study at the Conservatory he worked with Professor Antonio Rioseco, the Chair of the guitar department and a great arranger of traditional Chilean music for the guitar.
Motivated by his faith he began arranging traditional Christian music for guitar, this work is reflected on his first recording called “Eternal Light”, recorded and published in the USA.
His second Album titled “Grand Solo” is the second record on his career, classical guitar album featuring Works by important composers for the instrument. Recorded and published in the USA, album that has been acclaimed by the public and followers of the artist.
Cesar resides in the beautiful Washington State, in the USA, along with his family, in a place that he recalls “Celtic Land”, because of the impressive landscapes, the islands and its culture.
With a busy Schedule, Cesar continues giving concerts and recitals, delighting audiences with his performances.
Isa 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Mitsrayim for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Set-apart One of Yisraʼĕl, nor seek YHWH!
