One of the key products that Classical Gourmet Desserts and Pastries, Inc. specializes in is the chocolate chip cookie, which is a symbol in America’s culture. The chocolate chip cookies created by Classical Gourmet Desserts and Pastries, Inc. are original and are authentic. Based on a recipe that was handed down from well over 50 years ago by Grandma Elizabeth Blount-Scott. The recipe was created by Elizabeth Blount-Scott (born 1914 in Waynesboro, Georgia), who was a cook in nightclubs and restaurants during the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s in Waynesboro, Georgia as well as in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida (she is the owner’s maternal grandmother).
She prided herself on cooking many dishes that represented southern cuisine during that time.
Her food was served to many patrons; some of them were stars during that era, such as:
Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Dinah Washington. Her stories about those times with these individuals were just as flavorful as the food. She also developed and created a new spin-off cookie entitled The Blount Gourmet Coco Chip Cookie.
