Prince, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Rick James, Michael McDonald, Michael Jackson, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Al Green, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder. Oh and Garth Brooks.
Bio:
Born and bred in the mean street of Orange County, Chad developed his palate for funk at a young age, listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder and Jerry Reed in the back of his family's Dodge Ram Conversion Van. Next came Catholic church. Not much funk there, but the lack there-of leaves a soul yearning for the booty bounce of Zapp and Roger.
Bottom was exactly what he found when he stumbled onto a Rufus album in the early 90's. Master bass player Bobby Watson was teaching a whole generation how to loose yourself in the groove. Rick James, Teena Marie, Parliment, LaBelle, and a slew of others couldn't quench the insatiable urge for the boogie.
When setting out to create his own music, he turned to the masters from which he had grown. With some of the biggest guns in the business, including Mr. Watson on bass, Chad began his musical eruption.
C-Funk was born with a modern sensibility but the styling and sophistication of the old school.
