Influences are plentiful, right back to the Ray Price Shuffle, to Western Swing (Bob Wills), sliding on into the Jazz Crusaders and Stixx Hooper, moving on into my metal years with Metallica and a huge holler to all of the Motown Greats. I guess I am trying to say is you don't choose your influences they choose YOU!
Hi to everone and thanks for the visit. I am going to list some things about me and all I ask is that no one gags. My musical journey began in the small city of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada. With a vast number of influences (Freddy Pelletier, Rod Janzen, Brian Sklar, etc.) I had all the oppurtunity to learn at an early age from the best. Skipping ahead to my schooling I attended Red Deer College for the music performance program (2 yrs) and from this I headed out into the real world to just play music. From all of this I have cultivated a career than spans well over a decade and has afforded me the great pleasure of playing with some of the best Canada has to offer. I am now the full time drummer with Adam Gregory as well I freelance and remain a popular fella in the Alberta studio scene. I am now based in Nashville and I am planning on moving my family down as soon as I can. I am loving the music scene here in Nashville and I really feel at home here. You can find examples of my playing on several my space pages for example - Duane Steele, Amber Schneider, Tracy Millar, Gord Bamford, Deon Blyan, Harry Wojak, etc. The playing I have downloaded is a few of the sessions I have played on. I am available to do drum tracks for demo's or albums please feel free to contact me if you would like to track anything via the internet. I would also love to thanks Scott Atkins for his tireless efforts to keep me in the best drums wherever I am. Thanks Scott and thanks Coast Music and thanks to SONOR DRUMS. I am always very proud to play the drums they are truly a work of art. I would also like to thank Sabian cymbals and Terry Ryan for providing me with the icing on the cake, thanks for providing me with the best cymbals-period!.So Hopefully I didn't ruin any one's meal so thank you for the visit and hope to see you all soon. (Chad Melchert proudly endorses Sonor Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks (thanks Marco Soccoli), Audio Technica microphones(thanks Julie-ann) and rhythm tech percussion (thanks Pam). Take Care.
