Jesus Christ He died for my transgressions, and if there is a better example of how to live a fruitful life I'll be switched if I know who it would be.
Dan Gable As a comeptitor he was the best. As a coach he was the best, and I dare say the one of the best coaches in any sport of any era. Few come close to the level of success he enjoyed, and he did it by preaching the "just the basics" mantra.
Walter Payton I grew up a Bears fan, watching "Sweetness" elude tacklers and leading the Bears to the 1985 SuperBowl. He was the best. He was a man a character.
Orel Hershiser Hershieser was a really good MLB pitcher, but more importantly, he is a man of faith. His devotional in the "NIV Devotional Bible for Men" has meant a lot to me over the years.
No pic available -- Brooks Simpson. Brooks is another man of faith whom I have had the opportunity to meet. He was a wrestler coached by Dan "The Man" Gable. He was not the best on his team, but Brooks never gave up and worked hard. Combine that with his committment to his faith, and he's a real hero.

I'm an over worked, under paid journalist in the middle of Kansas. Before you ask, when I went out with Dorothy I accidentally ran over Toto and she never called me again. It's really a shame, I've always had a thing for long, dark hair and pony-tails. That cute checked skirt she loves so much is nice too. It's all good though, because I'm getting married in January to a better woman named Mary!

Oh you know what can cheer you up? The knowledge that I am getting old enough to act as the college sweetheart in The Last 90 Minutes, and that since I took that film course over the summer I could help with editing and cinematography. I'm quite brilliant with both, especially for a 17-year-old, if I do say so myself :-) Who is that actor you want to play the main character? Are you even still thinking about making the movie? I think it would be an indie hit :-)
