Drinking: Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, aged single malt Scotch, any beer that doesn't fill me up like a meal.
Activities: I had all but given up live music, but I am going to change that in '08. I am also getting back in to my art and music. Lately folks have been coming over for Rock Band which is a very fun game. Typing this sounds like a mid-life crisis. Fuck.
Music
I am looking for new angry music. I am getting to the point where I am stuck in a rut with my old favorites and I don't want to become that 30 year old guy in the back of the show yelling "Play some Skynyrd!"
I have found that I do not hate the hardcore punk movement. There are a few albums that downright tickle my fun places. Other than that....if your lead singer wasn't beaten by his father as a child.....don't even pick up a fucking mic you loser.
I would like to make a special comment about Fear Factory. Everyone with a spine has a band that they will stick with through all the changing styles, band member changes, and break ups. Fear Factory is that band for me. Burton Bell and company have provided me with many angry tunes that remind me that I am alive....and robots could take over my mind. God bless you Fear Factory.
Also, I have taken up a near infatuation with Clutch...again. Their early stuff was fantastic, but I now put Blast Tyrant and Robot Hive: Exodus in my top 100 albums of all times list. Neil Fallon, once described as a redneck poet laureate, is someone I highly admire.
Movies
Where to begin? These are just off the top of my head.
STAR WARS, Backdraft, Fight Club, Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Big Trouble in Little China, Sideways (Paul Giamatti was robbed), Evil Dead, Transformers the Movie, Seven, 13th Warrior, Momento, Underworld, Boondock Saints and anything with John Cusack.
Television
TV is the devil. I watch some TV, but I'd much rather be reading or shooting people on the internet. I enjoy the Discovery Channel.
I really like the Mythbusters. I would love to hang out with those guys and blow things up. Kari is my love goddess, even though she is a vegan.
Books
This is kind of silly to answer for anyone who REALLY enjoys the literary arts, I will periodically update this with books I have recently read or books I am currently reading:
||Flowers of Evil - a collection of poetry from the infamous Charles Beaudelaire
||To Sail Beyong the Sunset - Robert A. Heinlein in the series of Lazarus Long books....although I started in the wrong sequence so I will probably have to start over
||The Art of War - Sun Tzu - I am very slowly reading this and trying to adopt the warrior's philosophy to my daily business practices....but it is a slow read between tasks at work
Chadronomous Bosch On the way to Hilton Head, halfway through a 12 hour drive, sitting in a Shoney's in Asheville NC, and I am already jonesing for Warcraft.... Posted at 1:13 AM Aug 18 from Mobile view more
It's been a very long time since any of this horse shit was updated, so why not now?
I am not a happy shiny person. Just because I am smiling, does not mean that things are okay. Good vs. evil, light vs. dark, ying vs. yang, these are all interesting points of view in asking why we are who we are. It would be pointless bravado to say that I am an evil who exists to oppose other evils, but sometimes I feel it is true. Someone has to be the hard ass. Someone has to be able to dole out necessary ridicule and punishment. Someone has to verbally (and sometimes physically) bitch slap those who need to be put in line. It falls to me. It makes me a grumpy, anti-social, pain in the ass to be around sometimes, but so be it. Think about what I have written here the next time you look at me and wonder why I looked pissed off.
I am at an odd place in my life and not sure how to cope. A bar stool and a buddy seem to help, but I am getting to old for the hangovers. What else can I say than I miss my Huntington, WV friends dearly.
Who I'd like to meet: Neil Fallon, Mr. T, Paul Rubens, Jimmy Carter, Kurt Russell, Mike Muir, Chef Boyardee, Mike Patton, Gumby, Robin Williams, Kurt Vonnegut, Mr. Wizard and....Jack Burton....
Hey man! How in the world are you doing? I started classes last week, a lot of studying so far...it's been almost 15 years since I graduated. I've been sending you drinks to keep you "cyber hammered", send me a drink some time. I too wanted to be "cyber hammered". Lol I hope that you are enjoying the traveling you do. Where have you been lately? Seen anything super groovy? I wish I could get away a little more often. Maybe this summer we may be able to go to the mountains, as we usually do. Well, wanted to say hi, see how you are and send you a groovy vibe! Don't be a stranger, write or send drinks. Your Friend, Latoma~
