Here's a few: The mind-blowing soulful voice of drag queen/singer Sylvester (makes me feel 'Mighty Real'), open minds, closed minds, film scores (Bernard Hermann, Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman, Giorgio Moroder, whoever), my amazing, passionate friends (and frienemies) in Portland who are involved in various different types of music and art, Lisa Germano (especially her album 'Slide' produced by the incredible Tchad Blake), Harvey Milk (THE mayor of Castro Street), Arthur Lee and LOVE (gotta love LOVE), Robin Zander from Cheap Trick (hell, all of CHEAP TRICK), Patti LaBelle, Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Big Star, Phil Lynott, Jodie Foster (and everything about the movie 'Foxes'), Thin Lizzy, Living Colour, Vernon Reid, Sean Penn, Chris Penn, Michael Penn, Hanoi Rocks, King's X, 'Taxi Driver', Dead Moon, Chrissie Hynde, Prince, J.O., H.R., P.E., awkward social situations. I'm also obsessed with movies directed by John Cassavetes and Gus Van Sant.
This is my Bass + Vocal solo project. Occasionally, it's a Piano + Vocal solo project too. When I'm not doing my solo thing, I play in 2 Portland bands: DRATS!!! and NASALROD. I am attempting to maintain a relatively high level of authenticity. -Chairman
Hey Chairman... checked both of your disk with a fine tooth comb. Nice shit my man! and yeah; quit fuckin with Rainstick. He's sensitive and needs plenty of fluids.. be cool man..
Fuck yes, Chairman. Good show last night. I smiled the whole time you played. It was cool to road trip with you but get your hands off my stuff, man. The water you bought me was much smaller than the one you took. Fucker. You'll pay. Dearly. I will not let this insult go unchecked!

let's party and raise some money for one of Portland's old homegirls who's living in Istanbul, Turkey and who has recently undergone some serious medical crap and needs help! you can donate directly here: http://cyclecide.com/ratgirl/
she was experiencing pain and bleeding and was diagnosed with 2 tumors and a cyst and then her appendix got a perforation on it and she had to have emergency surgery for that on top of everything else. when the doctors cut her open they discovered that her entire reproductive system was infected, they literally found her to be full of PUS and had she waited one more day she probably would not have made it. fortunately, much thanks to her tough constitution and tenacious grip on life and the Turkish medical system, she's well on the mend. but she's still facing many overwhelming financial burdens and definitely needs our help!
please forward this to any mutual friends and hope to see ya there!
