Chalice sound system started in 1996 in Lille (north of France)
From the beginning our aim is to spread the message of peace,
tolerance, respect and unity between all people regardless
of color class or creed.
Musically I&I mainly concentrate on the jamaïcan roots and culture
from the 70’s and 80’s but I&I also play the latest of UK’s productions.
Since the last 10 years, the sound has played on his own set at least
once a month, and run his own club (“Chalice Maquis”).
I&I played in England at the Notting Hill carnival
(thanks to the great Jah Observer!), Germany, Spain and Belgium.
So right now Chalice sound is ready to play anywhere!

Animés par des valeurs communes de tolérance, de respect,
de paix, d’échanges et d’ unité entre les peuples sans distinction de couleurs,
de classe ou de religion, des amis créent en 1996, l’association Chalice Sound System.
Nous jouons dans la tradition des sound system Roots jamaïcain
et anglais (Platine unique, animation micro, effets…)
Les sélections du sound vont du roots Jamaïcain des 70’s 80’s aux
récentes productions Roots UK dub. le sound system possède son
propre système de son et gère depuis 10 ans un local "Maquis Chalice"
dans lequel il se produit une fois par mois.
