The Chalkwell Ladies, Ms. Edna Regis and Ms. Susan Blairgowrie (aka Lorraine Bowen and Karina Towsend) are a fabulous tweed-suited duo. Their studies into modern "tunes" means they can perform just over an hour long set, comprising songs, electronic improvisations and dances - all brilliantly executed, hilariously funny, yet surprisingly toe-tapping and tuneful. Susan and Edna are multi-talented, performing on saxophone, clarinet, with their beautiful voices and many modern and retro electronic instruments.

History - The Chalkwell Ladies, Ms. Edna Regis and Ms. Susan Blairgowrie (aka Lorraine Bowen and Karina Towsend) thoroughly enjoy self-improvement. To further their chances of appearing on their favourite afternoon television programme, "Watercolour Challenge", Edna enrolled herself and her companion Susan on a drawing course at Southend on Sea Community College, Essex.
Edna, a martyr to her myopia, was forced to use a ruler when ticking the box on the form but, as fate would have it, the ruler slipped down a line and the Ladies found themselves at drum and bass classes instead! One session with their tutor, Mr mc Cup 'v' Tea and his drum 'n' bass machine left our Ladies in no doubt that the hand of fate had dealt them a rejuventating opportunity.
