You name it. Listen there are 6 people in this band. All of us have countless influences. From heavey metal, to hip hop, jam bands to country and everything inbetween. As far as covers we have done something in most of the above catagories, Bon Jovi, the killers, several rap medly's, manson, NIN, billy idol... Shall I proceed.
Challenge Theory has evolved over the years into a unique blend of rock that appeals to listeners of most genres. The mix sits on a bed of complex drums with heavy, throbbing, guitars and bass. Add McLeods liquid riffs and solos over both ambient and classically inspired keys, and you have a refreshing mix of music. Perched on top of everything are Brushs emotionally charged vocals that can rip listeners away into another world. The Augusta Metropolitan Spirit calls Challenge Theory "forward thinking musicians" that play "fire eating progressions." The band has been likened to prog rock but with a hook. Every song is designed to catch the listener and stay with them without sacrificing musicianship.
In 2005, Challenge Theory recorded and released their first CD and added more than 13 additional originals to their repertoire.
Having played shows at nearly every venue in Augusta (as well as several out of town shows) that accepts live rock, the band is now looking to expand to other towns and grow their already sizeable fan base.
