Chambergrass Is comprised of mainly two members: David Schwartz, bassist, and Kim Koskela, banjoist. The group plays classical pieces, as well as, traditional bluegrass favorites. .. Kim Koskela was the founder and bandleader of the Wild Wood Girls, an all girl bluegrass and country band. The band started in 1979. Kim and her sister, Sue Koskela, managed and played in the band together. The Wild Wood Girls toured 8 years for the USO/DOD overseas programs and were the house bluegrass band at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. The Wild Wood Girls worked for Mr. Bill Monroe at his bluegrass festivals for 10 years. Kim retired the band in 1998 and went back to school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After graduating, she moved to the Roanoke Rapids area to work for a local company. Kim now teaches banjo in the evenings and performs on the weekends with Chambergrass. .. David Schwartz has been an accomplished classical cellist since 1984. He attended Wake Forest University as a Presidential Scholar in music and was principal cellist of the Wake Forest Symphony Orchestra. He picked up the double bass to become more involved with banjo music and discovered his affinity for bluegrass and the deep resonant sound of the bass. He has also begun to sing along, when encouraged! Dave works in a research laboratory in Greenville and loves to hike, fish, and canoe besides practice the bass in his free time when not performing with Chambergrass. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
