Charmaine Champion is a fresh face to the Canadian Christian music scene. As a young songwriter and worship leader, she believes strongly in the call on her life to encourage and inspire this generation to truly abandon themselves to Christ. Her new album, “Live to Glorify”, is a collection of worship songs that showcases both Charmaine’s strong vocals and her talent as a songwriter. “My heart is to see people encounter the presence of the awesome God that I love and serve, and above all, I just want to be real and honest in my worship. I want to keep stretching myself to get out of my comfort zone and pushing my artistic limits, but my songs will always be birthed out of my own personal worship times. This is truly where the power of the song lies.”
Currently, Charmaine is touring with Beautiful Unique Girl, a ministry dedicated to speaking truth into the lives of teenage girls across Canada and the United States. Night after night, she shares her music and her testimony, and is passionate about helping girls understand their worth and value in God’s eyes. And though she doesn’t yet know where her path will take her, she trusts deeply in the passions God has placed in her heart—most of all, the passion and desire to love Jesus with all that she is. This desire is the fuel behind the music and the voice you will come to love.
“I love living for Him and just sharing life with Him—as messy and confusing as it seems sometimes… those bright high-as-a-kite days when dreams just seem so attainable…and those days when the walls are caving in and the tears won't stopand I have no choice but surrender to His outstretched arms. I love needing Him and letting Him define who I am. And my prayer over the music that I write is that it be one-hundred-percent God-inspired and God-centred… and that He would refine me in the process.”
