About me:

Welcome to Southern Inferno Kennels. We are a small kennel, specializing in the OFRN bloodlines; Hemphill, Wilder, Pritts, Sitze, Sarona and their crosses. OFRN (Old Family Rednose) is a strain of APBT originating in Ireland, then made true by the old time breeders such as Corvino, Lightner, and McCoy and later Robert Hemphill and Jake Wilder. I give credit to these great breeders that have come before me as well as the others that still today are working to preserve this amazing line of dogs with giving me the pleasure of owning and breeding some of the most amazing animals to have ever walked this earth; The Old Family Rednose American Pitbull Terrier. If you would like to learn more about the line; go to the APBT Articles page on the site and browse through some of the history articles. At Southern Inferno, our dogs are first and foremost family pets, which live in our home with us. In fact of my current dogs I only have one whom has ever spent a night outside(aside from camping trips), and if I add anymore dogs to my kennel then I am going to have to get a bigger bed! We are very proud of our dogs and strive to promote a good image of American Pitbull Terrier. I encourage all APBT owners to be active with their dogs and show the world how great these dogs really are. Remember it is not the breed, but the owner that defines the dog. Our goal at Southern Inferno Kennels is to produce the all around package; a dog that can do as well in the show ring as it can working or doing obedience. I have done endless hours of research and searched the country to find the best possible representatives of the breed to incorporate in my breeding program. We are very proud to say that we breed for dogs with correct conformation and in no way breed for size. The original APBT's ranged in size from 30 to 65 pounds; we feel that it is acceptable for a dog to exceed this standard as long as he/she retains correct conformation and physical capabilities. What you can expect from a Southern Inferno Kennels APBT is a driven, athletic, intelligent, beautiful and extremely loyal companion whom will excel at whatever task he or she is asked to perform. These are the traits that drew me to this breed years ago and thus are what I aim to maintain. Southern Inferno dogs are not for everyone, nor will I place one of our pups with just anyone. The same traits that make this breed the greatest on earth, can also be exploited when placed in the wrong hands, thus we are very selective as to whom we will place our pups with. Owning this breed is a lot of work. They are extremely active dogs and require more attention then most breeds. Early socialization, constant mental and physical stimulation, and a loving owner are essential to creating a happy and well balanced canine companion. If you are interested in a Southern Inferno pup and can meet these requirements, then please fill out a Puppy Application or if you are active in showing, weight pull, obedience, or other dog sports then fill out our Show/Working Application. No dogs are bred or sold for illegal purposes. I will not have these amazing animals sacrificed in the pit. The days of dog fighting are long gone and it is important for the survival of this breed we pursue other means of proving these dogs. Shows, Weight Pull, Hog Hunting, Obedience, and Therapy work are the proving grounds for the modern day American Pitbull Terrier.
