    Formed in 2008, Chanauk began with a "doom / post-metal" sound utilizing extremely low guitar tunings, unconventional song structures and esoteric, screaming vocals. After an extended hiatus and a few lineup changes, Chanauk returned to the studio in late 2010 with a completely different vocal style, re-worked songwriting approach and a new overall sound.
