Auch dieses Album ist exzellent! [...]"Sleep Talking" bietet eine ausgesprochen spannende Sammlung an vertrackten, sehr farbigen und ausgesprochen klangvollen Rocksongs, die sich durch eine seltsam schräge Melodiösität auszeichnen (wie die letzten Werke von Time of Orchids). Einige eher freiformatige Abschnitte, Momente mit knarzigem Ambientschweben und ein allgemeiner Hang zur leichten Disharmonie sorgen aber dafür, dass diese Musik im Genre RIO-Avant am besten aufgehoben ist. Wer die weiter oben als Einflussgeber genannten Bands schätzt, der sollte nicht zögern sich das Debüt von Chance:Risiko zuzulegen! (12/15)

DEMO DEL MESE: “La palma di miglior disco del mese
va a S/T, dei bolognesi Non Compliant Cardia. La band
emiliana dimostra di possedere un ottimo bagaglio
culturale, sfruttato a puntino tra preziosismi tecnici
e un sound che dal post-rock eredita le geometrie,
dal jazz la raffinatezza, dal funk il feeling, dal pop
l’insospettabile facilità d’uso. La musica trae
giovamento dalle libertà espressive previste dal
progetto, trovando una propria ragion d’essere in
ritmiche dispari e mutevoli, digressioni melodiche
periferiche, pulizia del suono e puntualità negli
attacchi. Quattro brani razionali e dall’ottimo appeal.”

"Band con un buon senso della melodia e di un certo
sfilacciamento sonoro, dovuto all'intelligente opera di
ricami chitarristici. La band ha il gusto del brano breve
e stringato, nel quale sviluppare compiutamente le
proprie idee, come accade nelle variazioni ritmiche e
tematiche di "Tic tic tic" e "What's wrong with salamanders?".
Eccellente il clima malinconico e sfuggente di "Abac",
la sosta acustica di "The hypertrophic conscience..."
fa da contraltare alla tempesta di "Regaida".?C'è un
bel lavoro sulle dinamiche ritmiche, sulle progressioni
armoniche ed è interessante notare come certe
"idee-forza" del rock progressivo siano presenti
anche qui, sebbene in una situazione completamente
diversa, più dimessa e sottile."

Following the storming first night of New Heavy Sounds in September (with the marvellous BO-NINGEN headlining), we're super excited about the next NHS night, with zombie-baiting wonders CHICKENHAWK supported by the brilliant heavy garage of BAD FOR LAZARUS, the tight'n'heavy FRAFF and Cardiff's great STRANGE NEWS FROM ANOTHER STAR.
