The San Bernardino based band officially formed in January of 2005. It consists of members which have all made their rounds in local hometown hero bands, and have all been playing music for a number of years.
The music at hand is Heavy-Metal, or Metalcore as some would say, a genre that is definitely expanding if not exploding worldwide. The songs have definite weight when it comes to the breakdowns and heavy riffage, but still they still leave room the almost classical melody that is laced through the music. The stage performance is definitely where this band comes alive, capturing attendees with a show that is both energetic and fun. Chandala has also shared the stage with national acts such as A Life Once Lost, Animosity, Dead to Fall, Napalm Death, and more proving that they have what it takes to stand amongst the new leaders of modern music.
Chandala's aims are set high and taking the metal world by storm with their upcoming releases and tours. The first official release 'The Evolution of Thought', a 12-song album featuring a great deal of heavy breakdowns and catchy melody. The first West Coast tour, slated for August 2007 is being planned as well. Chandala is definitely ready to make a run at this, forsaking all else in their quest for heavy-metal superstardom.
