Firstly it would have to be God (as in almighty creator of everything), Life, Family, ...Musically anything that has a warm rich vibe that I can connect with because of it's lyrical content that I can relate to or you know the ones where you just get the feeling of where the writers comming from because they've just taken you there and back!! Anything with a soulful, Jazzy, country, hip-hop, anything with a different kinda vibe that feels good.

CHAN "The Northern Songstress" is a Gospel artist with a warm, vocal style that harks back to the Jazz, Blues and Soul singers of the 60's and early 70's. Today her sound is described as Neo-Soul. Her lyrics are subtle and stark all at the same time. Chan speaks straight from the heart on contemporary issues that hit at the core of the human condition today. In 2006 she won the National STAR Award: Unsigned Singer/Songwriter Talent at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. Her recent release ‘Restoration’ highlights her song-writing gift and honey-rich vocals to take you on a virtual melodic journey. Her trademark song ‘Battleground’ is already very popular and is being hummed throughout the UK.
Last year was busy for Chan as she supported artist such as Maxi Priest, featured on the cover of Gospel Link Magazine, Beverly Gospel Nights on BBC Radio 2, sang sets at Manchester’s Jazz Club Matt & Phreds, and released her debut EP Restoration and more. Chan continues to spread the good news in her own unique way with her acoustic set throughout the UK and has plans to tour Europe in 2009
