Magnetic and dynamic stage presence. Moving lyrics and melodies. With a voice compared to some of the greatest in music, Chantal Ambroise has the makings of a lasting musical career.Chantal considers home the small town of Swansea, MA. At an early age it was obvious Chantal had a talent for music. Chantal overcame a turbulent childhood while living in Portsmouth, VA and began singing in jazz bands throughout high school and college, inspired by the great singers of the past. While attending Massachusetts College of Art, she was exposed to new ideas of production, writing, and performance.
After graduation in 2004, Chantal began singing lead with her own funk/soul band "Alto Reform School" which featured some of the most talented and respected musicians in Boston. Chantal was then invited to join the "Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra." A cast of the fast growing and acclaimed show " A Night at the Rock Opera". The show highlights some of the best rock from "The Beattles", "Queen", and "Jesus Christ Superstar " as well as original songs. In both bands Chantal received fantastic reviews on her performances, showing no style of music is beyond her vocal ability.
A move to Seattle, WA in 2006 made Chantal a bi-coastal and motivated performer. While still traveling to Boston to be a part of the "URO" she had also been strengthening her connections on the west coast. While in Seattle, Chantal went back to her early beginnings, singing with the all female jazz big band The Mood Swings . She also connected with promising producers in the area. In addition, Chantal began making trips to Oakland, CA recording original work with progressive hip-hop group Triple Ave. She is featured on their album " True Working Clas Heroes" which can be found on CDBaby and itunes.
Currently the songstress is living back in New England and is recording new work for an upcoming CD and is the lead singer with the long established Rhode Island based R&B/soul/funk band The Rockin' Soul Horns.
The future is bright and endless for this driven and diverse performer. Motivated and inspired by life and her own ups and downs, she has a uncanny insight that translates to her music. It's only a matter of time.....
