  • Bio

Quebec pianist Chantale Gagné is best known on the jazz music scene. Settled in Montreal for the past few years in order to pursue her studies, she has obtained a D.E.C. in music from Marie-Victorin College (1999) and a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Piano Performance from McGill University (2003). James Gelfand, Jan Jarczyk, Jeff Johnston, Andre White, Rémi Bolduc, Lorraine Desmarais, Gerard d'Angelo and Kenny Barron have each contributed, in their own way, to Chantale’s musical and pianistic development. Present and active on Montreal's music scene, Chantale profits from a good reputation as both a talented soloist and accompanist in such various styles as jazz, blues and pop. Big bands and other formations such as trios, duos, and quartets are also among her strengths as a musician. Presently, Chantale is sharing her time between Montreal and New York City, perfecting her skills with various musicians, playing for different occasions, and is releasing, in june 2008, her first album of original compositions with Peter Washington on bass and Lewis Nash on drums. In october, Radio-Canada has named her "Revelation Musicale 2008-09" and will be promoting her on the radio, TV and web. .. .. .. ...... Layout by ..CoolChaser.. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
