Have you been up Shit Creek yet? No? Then you'll want to submit poems to Shit Creek Review's 'History and Memory' themed issue, due online in February '09. Submissions need to be in by 1st December. And if you have been up the Creek before, well, naturally you'll want to do it all over again. See the Submissions page at http://www. shitcreekreview. com/ for explanations, details, email address, submission form, PayPal details for bribes, etc.

A reminder that The Chimaera, too, is open for submissions until 1st December. The theme is Light Verse, and British Poet John Whitworth (who edited The Faber Book of Blue Verse) is the guest editor for that section -- so lighten up! But you can also submit general prose and verse for our Open Slather section. Go to http://www. the-chimaera. com/ and you should find a Submissions page somewhere there without too much trouble.

    Hey Chantarelle's Notebook
This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Or not.

Let me challenge you: Download the album 'Walkthrough' - it's on the top of my page - and listen to it exactly hm... 4 times :) Read the lyrics. It's mandatory.

I give you a solemn promise that you will feel, see and hear things that will make you smile deep within. Or not. Tell me if it doesn't happen so I can switch to selling ice-cream.

If you need a downloading assistance, send me a message.

Now go and get it. It was made for you.

What better way to impress that indie kid with the glasses and tattoos? Let them catch you reading a book.

You should swing out to Boulder sometimes. I'm hosting a weekly open mike with the great poet Olatundji for Baobob Tree Press and Illiterate Magazine. We can do a Chantarelle's Notebook special feature. Cheers.
