Was born in Mexico City and started his musical and flute studies at the National Conservatory of Music at the age of 8. In addition to his work at the school he has attended many master classes, having the opportunity to play for flutists such as Paul Edmund Davies, Colling Fleming, John Wion, kirsten Spratt, Alain Marion and Emmanuel Pahud. In 1997 is awarded with a scholarship from Holy Names College in Oakland Ca., to study with Angela Koregelos.
In 1999 is awarded also with the 1999 Young Artist Awards at the Piano Club Comptetition and also got the Dorothy Van Winen Prize. And plays his first Solo concert with the Holy Names Orchestra. As an orchestra musician he has been member of Orchestras such as: Holy Names Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Mineria, Orquesta Filarmonica de Acapulco, The Mozart-Hyden Festival Orchestra and The Orquesta Sinfonica Carlos Chavez. He has been an active musician playing chamber music both in Mexico and U.S.A.
In 2000 he gets the Teaching position at the State Conservatory in Mexico State, and two years later he gets a scholarship to study at L'Ecole de Musique et the Dance in Ville D'Avray, France with Patrice Bocquillon.
As part of his experience he has also played Broadway's Productions on their tour in Mexico such as: Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Producers, Victor Victoria, Fiddler on the Ruff.
Right now, Alejandro Vazquez is a member of the IBEROAMERICAN ENSAMBLE with whom he played as a soloist on its debut in October 2007 at the Conde Duque Concert Hall in Madrid, Spain, and ever since he goes back once a year to play.
