About Chant

With a combination of soul, funk, rock, and blues, CHANT has established themselves as the ambassadors of Eclectic Soul - a soulful new genre that sets no rules and has no boundaries. This trio mixes intelligently crafted songs with exceptional musicianship to create a style that defies catagories and defines originality. The group is led by Chant Duplantier, a South Louisiana born multi-instrumentalist who has spent countless years honing his skills as a performer and songwriter. The band is rounded out by a rhythm section one has to see to believe. Jerry Smith, Jr. (6-string bass/vocals) has spent his life playing church stages to concert halls working to develop his unique style that breathes new life into each song night after night. The final piece of the trinity is Jerry 'J.K.' Kelly (drums/vocals). After years of playing around the world with artists to numerous to mention, JK has settled into a project he's proud to call home.

Simply put...either you've been blown away by them - or you're about to be. Any band can say it, but CHANT proves it. With their roots in the past and a sound for the future, CHANT truly is "the history of things to come".
