Chaos Frame is a unique new sonic expression of unprecedented
captivation. Forging jazz, drum & bass, and classical music, the
result exists in a realm of the trans-genre. Both artistic and pract-
ical; intellectual and intuitive; accessible and all-inclusive, Chaos
Frame offer a visionary musical interplay encompassing the musical
ideals of past, present, and future.
Guitarist, composer, and producer Ben Tyree formed Chaos Frame
in 2006 with the specific intention of creating an ensemble of very dif-
ferent, yet versatile, musicians to spontaneously perform improvised
musical sound-suites. The resulting sessions were astounding.
Rooted and versed in jazz, Tyree desired to fuse his eclectic concepts
with that of classical and electronica music genres. Long time friend
and artistic collaborator Campbell Kennedy entered to add his
unique assemblage of kamikaze drum & bass breakbeats with
ethereal soundscape manipulations. Creating and mixing on the spot,
Kennedy is almost a one-man hyperspace band in his own rite.
Adding more classical and acoustic sensibilities is Australian cellist Will
Martina who, after moving to New York in 2006, also performs with a
number of projects including Boston Fielder's MuthaWit Orchestra of
which Tyree is a member as well.
The trios latest recorded effort, the soon to be released Anti-Jazz
Sessions, is sure to take the underground music and art world by
storm as well as turn heads in the jazz, electronica, and classical niches
inciting them to nod in unison.
Yo Ben ... I said I was going to check you guys out tonight but unfortunately (in a fortunate sort of way) I have some business to take care of for a show I'm doing. I really want to hear you guys live so I'll try to catch the next gig. Later!
I wish I could catch up with ya'll at Fontana's... but there hasn't been an invention yet allowing one person to be in two places at once. Or has there???
