The Twin Cities' very own Charis are some of the most clean cut metal kids I've seen around town. Besides Kyle's light scruff and because of Ben's inability to grow facial hair, metal has taken on a new image with these well mannered gents. These guys are all about being themselves and having a good time, there's no BS or trends to it. Their image is not the only thing that distinguishes these Midwestern boys from their counter parts. Charis' highly entertaining and energetic live shows bring out crowds large enough for mountain sized pile-ons and Spartan-like shout alongs. Not to mention their spry and fun-loving stage presence, utilizing the space of a stage of any size, and making sure every corner is graced with their movement. Aside from the visual that these boys know how to kick it, Charis has managed to create a sound for themselves that make them stand out and above the crowd. It isn't uncommon to find young hometown bands making music for kids to dance to, and although the music of Charis is very lively with dance beats, they prove that they have more to offer than your stereotypical chuglicious open chord breakdown. If their catchy and melodious guitar work and blood pumping drumming doesn't get your attention, the vicious screams and growls you hear will definitely entrap you with the use of range. The dividing line between ordinary and friggin awesome! is that these boys are knowledgeable on how to work with song structure, progression, and musical placement. That extra effort illuminates the sound of their debut self released six song EP, CREATION | DISRUPTION | RESTORATION.
