Charlemagne, the songs of Carl Johns brought to life with help from many friends, was born in a basement in Wisconsin in the middle of winter in 2003 as a side-project to the band Noahjohn. Since then Charlemagne has released two albums and a trio of singles, as well as a number of compilation appearances. Carl and Co. have toured extensively in the US and UK, and also performed in Canada, France, and Australia. The new album We Can Build An Island is out September 11, 2007 on SideCho Records.

Hey Carl, thanks for the add here, too! Am really enjoying "Island" ( I live on one) and really digging "Detour". Really, really wonderful music. I'm very happy that I discovered you and your bands!
looking forward to catching you at the King Club on the 22nd & picking up the new album. hope all has been swell on your journey. Linda and I had a baby girl on the 21st of August, Zephyr is her name-o!
Hey Carl, thanks for adding me to the list - now I can be sure to keep abreast of when you will be back to visit in Madison. Enjoy your trip down under, I'm envious but hope the jet lag isn't too bad. I've heard if you stop in Fiji and rest on the beach it is a more pleasant transition:)
Awesome. Can't wait for the new album. We will be at the record store first thing. Really like the track title "We're Gonna Hate All Over This Town" the notion sounds so familiar. Long Live Charlemagne! -d
Just hit the link through the album news release email. Watched the Pink and Silver video. Nice. Before it was through Espen came walking in from his room saying "Papa likes this song. So do you."
It's so cool when a four year old shows you how tuned in he is.
