I just want to sing. I just want to make music. That's it. I used to live in Nashville, TN among some of the great songwriters there. I slept on the floor of my friend's apartment one summer so that I could make a record. I sold my bed to buy my band dinner for rehearsal. My mom gave me some money as a down payment for a condo in an effort to subdue the rock and roll in me and make me settle down. What did I do with that money? I made my own independent record. I worked with some brilliant people in Nashville that I'll forever admire. Among them, award winning songwriters Marcus Hummon and Trey Bruce.
I moved to New York with a suitcase, no job and barely any money. I lived in a one bedroom apartment with 3 other guys. I moved out and moved into a friend's office. He would work there in the day time and I would come only at night to sleep on the couch there. I recorded a three song EP in a church in New York City cause my friend worked there. We traded services with the string players and other musicians in order to be able to do it.
I moved to London without ever having been there and with no connections or friends in that city. I found out where I was going to stay the night before my flight. I lived in many different places. I found myself out on the street one day with my suitcase unsure of where to go next (thanks for taking me in Rick Whaite!). I wandered from place to place of newly made friends. I found myself getting meetings with EMI, Universal Publishing, Angel Music Group, Anglo Management, Big Loud Shirt, Bluejay and more. It was a great experience.
I'm back in NYC with plans to travel back to London to do shows again. I'm currently working on a new project and forming a BAND. Check back soon for new demos, shows to be added and a new band to be introduced. Long live the music!
