Charles Bubeck has been performing and recording with his own jazz group since 1989. The group has performed up and down the East coast of the United States and his recordings have all met with critical success and enjoyed featured radio play throughout the United States and Europe.
In June of 2007 Charles released his 4th CD, a collaboration with his long time friend Daniel Ian Smith. The CD consiss of an eclectic group of original compositions that were meticulously recorded and mixed over the past two years. The band consists of Charles Bubeck on vibraphone and Boston Musicians Daniel Ian Smith (saxes), John Baboian (guitars), Brooke Sofferman (drums) and Victor Belanger (bass.)
Charles is also in demand as a freelance performer, writer, recording artist and educator. He has performed and toured with the Eric Felton Orchestra, The Kevin Cordt Quartet, The Tom Cunningham Orchestra, Positive Rhythmic Forces and Mark Harvey’s Aardvark Jazz Orchestra. He has presented numerous clinics and workshops on jazz improvisation and vibraphone technique and has been the Director of the W.T. Woodson High School Jazz Ensemble since 1999.
