About me:
The mind is at the very core of what makes us human,and widely separates us from other animal species; from mathematics, to humor. It is the deep mystery of our very self, our personality, who 'I am'. What is the nature of 'self' with another? Why the relationship between you and me? Why do we feel we belong to groups?
My passion is understanding, and building a basic, simple model of the mind. I start with a few basic assumptions.
The basis of mind is composed of two different descriptions of perception, where perception is the integration of fragments of previous experience. The first description of perception, a statistical description of the probability of locating 'self', is defined by (2/a)^1/2)sin[(n(pi)/a)X]). This is the probability of locating only one of four possiblities from, "me", "them", "you", or "us", which is the probability of 1/4. Next, this probability is squared, giving the next level of probability of 1/16. This squared probability is then multiplied by the negative logarithm of this squared probability, divided by the logarithm of 4, creating a normal distribution curve, that is, an Incident wave, a 'hill' if you will, and represents entropy at n = 1. Meanwhile, a Virtual wave represents information, a 'valley' if you will, silly or otherwise, and is the inverse of entropy. The mind acts to exchange entropy, which is a measure of disorder, for information, which is a measure of order, by multiplying entropy and information.
The mind’s perceptions are within the first quadrant of a coordinate system when n = 1, which serves as a reference system, or 'self'. The ground state of an electron is n = 1, but it also represents the ” self ", or the " Observer ” or the ” I ” or the “me” of mind.
The second description of perception, is a dynamical description of the mind's analysis. While n = 1 is "I", or "self", or “me”, n = 2 is “them”, n = 3 is “you”, and n = 4 is “us”. These logical types of hierarchy theory are also quantum numbers that represent a family of quantized energy states (The energy E sub n is within the angle of the wave equation and is ((n^2)(h^2)/8ma^2))! The mind is a the result of selecting the probability of PAL's reply, and thereafter used as an organizing principle. That is, only after the collapse of Schrodinger's wave equation!
By taking the inverse sine of ((2/a)^1/2)sin[(n(pi)/a)X]), isolates the angle [(n(pi)/a)X] in which to work with.
From a lower level at n = 1 of the four logical types, to a higher level of context, at n = 4, and integrating in the counter clockwise direction by calculating [n(pi)/a] times the integral of d(X), from the lower bound (0) , to the upper bound (a), or one could say, when the angle of the wave equation, (n * pi/2a) times X^2, produces meaning, emergent properties, the context, the “how” of a phenomenon. USING COLORS in the clockwise direction, blue on blue, where n = n + 7, repeats all over again, after eight complete spins.
Meanwhile, in the SAME direction, a rotation in the clockwise direction WITHOUT using colors, in the decreasing " n " direction, produces a reductionist analysis of explanation, a dissipance, the “why” of a phenomenon, according to hierarchy theory. Either, a higher level explains “why” to arrive at a lower level, going in one direction, OR a lower level explains the “how” of emerging to a higher level, going in the opposite direction!
Game theory is also used in a two-by-two game matrix, with payoff values at +1, -2, -3, and +4. These payoff values correspond to the four logical types, "me", "them", "you", and "us", respectively. The two rows of this game matrix are, -2 +1 in the first row, and +4 -3 in the second row, and is a nonstrictly determined game matrix.
These values are chosen, these payoff values mentioned, depend upon the particular relationship between the class “me” and the class “you” of the hierarchy theory. Their interaction, the exchange of entropy for information, determine the payoff values of the class “us” and the class “them”. Belonging to either “us” or “them” constitutes a basic, social hierarchy.
Our Social Hierarchy
Human beings live in a social hierarchy, interlinked with other plant and animal species, bound only to the surface of the Earth. We have all coevolved with all the other carbon based life forms, trapped here, within the outgassing of our planet for at least the last 4 billion years, 4 million years in our case. Another view, a mistaken view, is that our sense of our social hierarchy, our tendency to think in a hierarchical way, is interpreted to be a religious hierarchy, with the deity on top, angels at a sublevel, humans at a subsublevel, and all other plant and animal species at the lowest level, put here for our use or our amusement. But, such a popular view is clearly an illusion.
Social hierarchies have been an intrinsic part of many animal survival strategies for hundreds of millions of years. From ants, to wolves, to lions, to primates are varied forms of social hierarchies, in particular, the primates. Unseen within those surviving nervous systems, lurk genetic propensities for social behaviors. Unseen within man’s surviving nervous system, lurk ancient genetic propensities that are within plain sight of blind men. From babies raised in patriarchal families, to tribes forming into pseudo-families, to companies forming into pseudo-tribes, to nations forming into pseudo-companies, are genetic propensities being acted out, unseen. Globally, human nations seek alliances with other nations, and are the same as the alliances between the alpha males in other primate societies, and for the same reasons.
In the far future, no doubt nature will create nations of human beings, nations that are similar to the different tissues in our bodies, acting globally like an organism, communicating through cooperation rather than competition, sharing the natural resources much like a vascular system. The ‘vascular system’ that carries nutrients, oxygen, and wastes, shares these natural resources among ‘nations’ so that the whole ‘organism’ will benefit, and will be able to maintain its existence. A ‘organicistic socialism’ if you will, but based upon our social hierarchy within the ’tissues’! Our mathematics, and our very language reeks of ancient social hierarchies.
The basis of mathematics resides in set theory and space, or territory, that is either bound or unbounded. The definitions of words of any language are bounded meaning, in an otherwise unbounded meaning universe. A bound meaning is synonymous with a word and its definition, like a marked territory. And like marked territory, which is defended and protected, are classes with subclasses, chosen because of values placed upon that logical type, or that set, or that class.
These values that are chosen depend upon the particular relationship between the class “me” and the class “you”. In particular, it is a linear combination of two angles within the classes, “me” and “you”. The class "you" represents information, or a light source, interacting with "me", which represents the two slit screen and has a probability (1/2) for selecting which slit to allow 'information' to go through, either one slit, OR the other slit, and creates the potential of two spikes on the back screen, and represents "them". On the other hand, if the single light source, "you", shines through only one slit and falls on the back screen, the resulting pattern is identical to the original bell shape curve of "me", the single pattern of a recursive 'self'! If, however, the light falls through both slits at the same time, a banding pattern of light and dark lines appear, and represents the class "us".
Two spikes could potentially be formed behind each slit, when either one slit is open, OR the other slit is open, and represents the class"them". This is accomplished by using the angles,((1)pi/32)-((3)pi/32))), as one single angle. By multiplying this angle by 1/2, recreates the class "me" on the back screen. For instance, multiply the angle,((1)pi/32)-((3)pi/32)) by 0.5 reproduces the class "me".
Otherwise, the difference of “me”,((1)pi/32), minus “you”,((3)pi/32), creates “them”, while “me” plus “you” creates “us”. The “you” could in principle represent not only another individual, but also a group, or a team, or a nation. This relationship is crucial in determining the payoff values of either the class “us”, or the class “them”! It seems reasonable to assume that perception is a reflection of our social hierarchy.

It is a relationship of "me" with another. A relationship, I might add, would hopefully be a conversation with either Lisa Randall, Roger Penrose, or Michio Kaku, about mind and the universe. Would it be a "them" or "us" relationship?
