Photographer for Jumpin' Hot Club - occasional guitarist for Shipcote (see Butcher Boy), that's my dodgy solo and trem. guitar. Staggering John Lee on lap steel, Shipcote on vocals and rhythm guitar. The track was produced and recorded in a church hall in Gateshead by Greg, drums and percussion, (from Grangemouth).
Influences
Brought up on rock ’n’ roll in the 50s so anything goes as far as music is concerned. Country, blues (not rock/blues), 60s R&B, alt. country and all things a little bit different. All noise is music anyway. Tiny Island/Tiny Island, Jon Wayne/Texas Funeral, Ramsay Midwood/Shoot Out at the OK Chinese Restaurant, Emmylou Harris/Wrecking Ball, anything by Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Jim White/Wrong-Eyed Jesus, Tim Buckley/Greetings from LA, The Handsome Family/Through the Trees (I presume that these albums are part of any sane human beings music collection). Anything by the following artists: Dan Hicks, Buddy Holly/Crickets, Blind Willie McTell, Son House, Tampa Red, Little Brother Montgomery, The Lafayettes, Steve Reich, Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno and many more to be added when they come to mind. There are to many to mention but you can add to the list the musicians in my friends list. Photographers, painters etc., I’ll add later. I have to thank everyone at the Jumpin’ Hot Club and Martin Stephenson.
LATEST NEWS New John Miller album should be finished by Christmas. Hope to have copies available by late January/early February. I'll let you know when it's ready. Johnny M
