Dear Maestro, receive with pleasure the news of the tests Masquerade. I hope that everything goes well. I am very glad of your attention. All this for me is very important in order to continue writing for the Euphonium.
I would like to place on record my sincere appreciation to you and the musicians of the CLSW for a very fine concert rendition of my Concertante for Euphonium last Sunday. As always Charley's playing was note-perfect and the accompaniment made the overall performance a very memorable occasion for me. I would particularly like to thank you for your splendid interpretation which was as I had in mind when composing it.
With kind regards,
Terry
Hi Charley,
Many thanks for so promptly sending the mp3 recording of Concertante. Having listened to it a couple of times I am in admiration of your note-perfect performance and am very appreciative of all the practice which you obviously put in to achieve such a fine rendition. As far as the CLSW is concerned, it was lovely to hear an accompaniment played by true musicians.
It was good to have your company on Sunday and it is a day which will stay in my memory as one of my musical highlights.
I have written to John Andrews and thanked him for his very splendid interpretation and have asked him to express my thanks to each member of the group.
By the way, I was deeply moved by Joe's very kind remarks on AP and will send him a personal message of thanks also.
How nice to make the acquaintance of a fellow Euphonium player. I must confess I claim to play tuba but I think it is really a larger sort of Euphonium. I also have an ancient and precious (to me) Besson Euph (does one say that in the same way as one says "Uke"? Doesn't seem right) which has travelled very widely with me. But oh dear, I play very ill indeed (viz. More Tea Vicar). Apologies.
