Yanni Voices - 2009 Tour Highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJv8K4B3z-U My name is Charlie Adams. I am a professional drummer, father and autism advocate. I have been the drummer with Yanni for over 25 years. Actually, before that, Yanni was the keyboard player in my Minnesota based band, "Chameleon (also featuring Dugan McNeil)We toured the mid-west in the 1980's, were famous for my upside-down drum set, and even had a video on MTV in 1983. After Chameleon broke up, Yanni and I moved to L.A. to pursue his solo project and movie soundtracks. We did movie soundtracks, along with Yanni's instrumental recordings on Private Music and toured with our 5-piece band, which included John Tesh. Then, Yanni met Linda Evans and soon after, along came "Live at the Acropolis" our concert event filmed in Athens, Greece, which has sold over 8 million copies.
Meanwhile, I met Andrea, and had Ian and Courtney while in Los Angeles. After "Live at the Acropolis" we decided to move to Nashville, Music City, and raise our two children in a smaller part of the country, similar to where we grew up (MN and Chicago.) We love Nashville and now have added Sean and Jared to our family (did I mention, Max our 100-pound German Shephard?)
When Sean was four years old, he was diagnosed with autism. It took a few years for him to get the official diagnosis. The doctor kept saying "he would grow out of it" whenever we told her of our concerns. Finally, we switched doctors and on the first visit to the new doctor, he told us that Sean showed autistic tendencies and wanted to have him tested at Vanderbilt. He was put on a waiting list and after a while, was finally officially diagnosed around the age of four.
Throughout all of this, my wife, Andrea was a stay at home Mom and also home schooled Ian and Courtney (along with baby Sean.) We had Jared when Sean was two years old. Jared was a happy baby, talked, laughed, played with toys and showed no signs of autism at all. We were devastated when Sean was diagnosed with autism and we remember feeling relieved that Jared was "normal." Then, at around 19 months (after receiving his 18-month shots) Jared just shut down. He stopped talking, stopped playing, stopped laughing. Sean had just been diagnosed, so we had Jared tested and the results came back--autism. Now we had four children, and two young boys with autism. I have to admit, I was in denial at first, but thanks to my wife, Andrea, I came to realize the truth and we decided to become the best parents and autism advocates we could to help our boys and other families across the world who are dealing with autism every day! This is just the beginning. I am in the process of producing a movie on autism to help spread autism awareness world-wide--like only a major motion picture can. It is called, "Jason's Run" and will keep you updated on our progress whenever possible. Thanks for your support!

Hi Charlie! Michael and I are so glad you are on this tour. Michael was worried that you wouldn't be. Can't wait to see you rock out on your drums in Albany.
It's Dr. Michael Schachter. He runs a big clinic in Suffern, NY and an old friend. My ex-husband used to work for him in 79-81. It is a holistic clinic and they have had amazing results with cancer, and I believe cutting edge treatments for autism. Have you heard of Chelation Therapy? It's believed that this can remove toxic substances (actually leach) from blood stream, brain, vital organs from immunization additives. I'm sure there are other things available as well. These are fully accredited, licensed and world reknowned doctors and I recommend Dr. Schachter, highly. He would remember me as Carol Roe and my ex-husband was Dr. Donald Roe.
Hi Charlie, I can't wait to see you all in Chicago. This is a beautiful new venue and closer to my home in Boone County! It's nice not to have to drive into Chicago, yay! Practice? You? After all these years? I know, it's what you love and to perfection! You're the greatest!
