Sounds Like
If Free Bird and Stairway to Heaven had a baby...and Layla and Ramblin Man also had a baby..then if those two awesome babies miraculously had their own baby...you'd get the sound of Charlie and the Vanilla Faces.
A rock band from Morristown, New Jersey who makes you want to rock. With a great sound on tape and who has lots of energy live. Meg Carr is the lead vocalist. Chris Billak sings and plays rhythm guitar. Ryan Nally is on the Drums and Ben Rhodes at Bass guitar. PJ Brutzman is the newer addition at lead guitar. We play shows around the North Jersey area. In the fall of 2008, CVF released there first album which was self titled. In the future they plan to write more songs and tour the globe.
Personal Bios:
Chris Billak is a senior at Morristown High School and is the lead guitarist and vocalist for Charlie and the Vanilla Faces. He has been playing guitar for 4 years and also enjoys writing music. He started playing drums with another band in the 6th grade where he found his love for music and has been in three bands since. The band practices at his house three times a week.
Ryan Nally is the drummer for Charlie and the Vanilla Faces. He is a senior at Morristown High School. While he started playing the drums in the 8th grade, his favorite drummers are John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and J-Hop.
Ben Rhodes, the bassist, began his music career with guitar in which he mostly taught himself. He is currently a senior at Morristown High School. During his sophomore year at Morristown, he began taking bass lessons. Taking inspiration from famous bassists, such as Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Entwistle from The Who. He worked hard to create his own unique sound. He continues to play bass almost everyday and has recently worked on his voice in order to give back up and sometimes lead vocals.
Meghann Carr is a junior at Villa Walsh Academy and the lead vocalist in the band. She has been singing since before she could talk and met Chris singing in a church choir. Although her musical inspiration is not deeply rooted in classic rock, she's learned from the best.
P.J. Brutzman has been playing guitar for eight and a half years now. He is a sophomore at Morristown High School. His influences are mainly Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Duane Allman, Warren Hayens, Derek Trucks and Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers band, and Slash from Guns and Roses. His guitar playing style is very deeply rooted in blues and classic rock but he also likes to branch out into other genres as well.
