MY MATES MAKE MUSIC TOO:

I’ve finished. I’ve done it. At last: I’ve made an album. This is hopefully the first album of many. There’s nothing like actually making music, rather than just thinking about making music, to make you a bit better at making music. So, hopefully, by about the tenth album, I’ll make the great record I always dreamed of making.
Many thanks to all who listened and commented along the way: I’d probably have given up half way through without your feedback. Special thanks to Will for sharing his superior musical knowledge; for the sound recording advice (geddit? sound advice... sound recording? heh, heh... heh) but most of all for letting me know when and why something was ‘less than good’. Invaluable criticism and very much appreciated. Oh, and thanks to the recession, without which someone might have given me a job a bit earlier and then I wouldn’t have had time to spend hours playing the same violin riffs until I got passable takes, or had the ‘inspiration’ to write any of the tracks expressing mild frustration at being stuck in suburbia. So thanks to all responsible for that little global crisis. Of course, now I have got a job, I almost wish I hadn’t because making music is the more fun activity. But at least I got to the city - without sneaking in the back of a van.
We all know that hardly anyone bothers to listen to actual CDs anymore so I shall only be making physical copies for a few people. You can download the tracks from last.fm if you would like them for your ipod. And if you really, really want me to make you a CD, and will genuinely, truthfully treasure it appropriately/listen to it rather than just letting it gather dust with other hand made CDs, then let me know and I shall.
This is the end of Charlie Makes Noise, by the way. I will be back soon but under a new guise. Until then:
