Coming from a long line of musicians, one might say music is in Charlie Morton’s veins. And nothing proves that more than Charlie’s first solo album, Home.
Charlie was taught from an early age to appreciate good music. Years later, he is now a singer/songwriter and brilliant musician with a high capacity for instrumentation. Home is an excellent example of just how talented this rising star really is.
Previously, Charlie was a member of the popular, British band, MOKE. After an unfortunate break-up, Charlie turned his attention to what would become a two year long, childhood dream-come-true, splitting recording time between Black Dog Studios and his own, makeshift, home studio.
Charlie has also written alongside many others including friend, former band member and producer, Sean Genockey (Black Dog Studios), Harry Collier (formerly of the band KUBB), and Ian Wills, Wills and the Willing’s new album, Heroes and Villains.
Charlie will be a busy boy this year, as he will be joining Wills and the Willing as drummer for their 2008/2009 gig schedule and is currently finishing another album project with Sean Genockey.
Charlie’s true talent, creative ingenuity and emotive lyrics mixed with a bit of retro-inspired melodies are sure to become a favourite.
