Sounds Like
Poetic performance--poetry/music/soundscapes. Some background soundscapes might make you think of Tom Waits or John Cage. If there's a sax going with a piece you might be reminded of Felinghetti or Kenneth Rexroth doing their jazz/poetry thing. In the end it sounds like Charlie & friends.
I'm a poet and songwriter who enjoys collaborating with others in performance.
Lately I've been writing and performing three kinds of pieces, poems that get augmented with music, audience participation or whatever; poem-songs that a have more 'regular' music happening behind them; and then there are the flat out songs. If that doesn't make sense, give a listen to the posted pieces for examples.
This space is for my explorations with performance both poetic and musical. On my other myspace sites I perform with my established groups AvantRetro (for poetry) and Whiskey Bucket Blues Review (for blues). My buddy, Dan Wilcox, gets credit for the photo of me and Jack on stage in the 90's. . . . . . . . .
if you enjoy hearing poetry check out my website. ......www.poetrypoetry.com......it features audio poetry---not mine---lots of poets in live readings some famous........James Laughlin, Jimmy Santiago Baca....Maria Mazziotti Gillan....Robert Bly.....Ted Kooser.....and others who are also excellent but less well known

Hey, thanks for being a friend. Please feel free to use the Poetry Guide comment area to post information about your book or event. You are one of a kind.
Thanks, Charlie. We'll keep each other posted. FYI, when I get a new poem published I link to it, if it's online. If it's not online, I post it in my blog (with credits of course). By the end of July I should have new work at Smoking Poet and Terrain.org, plus print journals.
