major influences in Charlie's life
comes from what she has gone through. Its hard to imagine for someone so young to go through so much but Charlie says, "thats what makes me stronger and I learn to deal. I take a situation and pick at it taking parts that will make me stronger, learn from it, and then let it go and it inspires me to write".
Even though she denies it, Charlie has thick skin and it takes a lot to break her down. other major influences? GOD, charlie's family- her mom, papi, brothers david and joey, and especially her yaya.
Sounds Like
Charlie Sounds like Charlie. There is no way to truly describe her voice unless you hear it. She writes all her own songs so its even harder to compare her to anyone else. She is definitely inspired by great rock bands and incorporates lots of guitar and drums into her music.
Charlies favorite band of all time? MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!
"I think Gerard is purely GENIUS; a musical genius. i love the emotion he puts into his songs and the way he just captures the audience and draws them in... hes amazing" says Charlie.

The minute the doctor gave her to me and she looked into my eyes I knew she was destined for greatness- says Charlies grandmother.
Born and raised in Miami Florida this 18-year-old Greek Irish and Colombian songbird was anything but ordinary. Since before Charlie could speak she was learning how to hum tunes from national commercials for bologna to classic Disney songs. It was said by many different point of views that Charlie was an extreme talent so Charlies mother immediately knew what to do. At the age of 2 Charlie began to take dance classes and her mom would help her sing on the side and soon after that Charlie began to learn faster and faster about harmonies. She would take piano lessons and violin lessons to help perfect her fascination with music and on the side, throw plays and talent shows along with the neighborhood kids. At the early age of 7 years old Charlie had joined the cast of Annie for the University of Miami to play the role of none other than Annie herself.
I remember I got so nervous that I couldnt go on with the song and the piano teacher backstage just stopped. I took me five seconds to convince myself that I had to go on and the moment I stopped worrying and started singing... it just felt right- says Charlie as she refers to opening night.
On the side and in school Charlie would do anything to get her hands on plays and recitals. At the age of 8 Charlie won second place in a talent show hosted by her school by just singing without any music to back her up. She would be one of the youngest to do major musicals for school functions and out of school as well. Charlie knew that she had found her destiny and her passion which only secured her future. After a long period of begging, Charlies father agreed to let Charlie join John Robert Powers - a place where they teach young talent how to only become better and to give young talent an opportunity to expose themselves. John Robert Powers carried Charlie out to California for her first time for a convention known as I.M.T.A. which stands for International Modeling and Talent Association - a huge convention where talent and major industry people clash together [in a good way]. It is said that the minute that Charlie stepped foot off the plane she felt right at home. During I.M.T.A. Charlie met a man by the name of Philip Karr who believed in her more than anyone and would help Charlie land auditions.
Philip was like a second father to me. He would light up a room the minute he put his hand on the doorknob! ...you could feel his energy. i thank him for where i've gotten in life- says Charlie.
Unfortunately Philip passed away a week before him, Charlie, and a group were flying back out to Los Angeles again. After his passing Charlie lost her spirit to carry on and felt that a piece of her was missing but only time would heal Charlie. After that she focused back on her studies but it didnt work... Charlie knew what she wanted to do. Charlie kept continuing her classes at John Robert Powers and would meet different people from the showbiz world every Saturday until she met a man by the name of Corbin Bronson who is a well known casting director mostly known for casting the characters on the show Monk. Corbin saw something in Charlie that Philip once did and so he signed on in hopes of helping her achieve her dreams.
He told me that my personality was what sold him but little did we know that he lived in California so he gave me his number and told me whenever I went to visit to call him... so I said we were visiting for summer and the only person who didnt know that yet... was my father- Charlie says as she laughs.
One thing she said is that her father always supported her and believed in her so he agreed to the summer in California but Charlie had different plans. It took a lot out of Charlie to convince her father that she belonged in California but of course Charlies father couldnt just pick up and leave his business so Charlies mother volunteered and OFF SHE WENT to Hollywood - the make or break city or California. Corbin had set up Charlie with one of the biggest agencies, BUCHWALD talent mostly known for their clients such as Ashley Tisdale Ricky Ulman... etc. But it wasnt until Charlie joined an academy where her life began to change for good.
The teachers that taught Charlie were absolutely genius and the people she had met there were amazingly talented but when Charlie met a man by the name of Shane Sparks it seemed as if destiny had stepped in and fate was soon knocking. Shane Sparks is one of the best world renowned choreographers but most know him for being a judge from the shows "So You Think You Can Dance?" and "America's Best Dance Crew"
Shane is a guardian angel with a wish to change the world... and I know he will- says Charlie.
How does the rest of this story go? Well... were actually living it out right now.
