After working as a side-woman across genres, on-stage and in-studio with international and local artists and musicians, and fronting bands such as afro-cuban salsa-tinged rockers 'Rico' along with an “acid-jazz collective” called 'Sumo' and other Indie-Experimental explorations, Charlotte "Charli" Hunt has maintained a reputation for being versatile. Due in part to an ongoing succession of society gigs, she has gained the appreciation and admiration of many.
Charlie (a.k.a. Charli) co-wrote and recorded a set of songs with internationally known "groove merchant"Anthony Nicholson for King Street/Night Grooves records, grabbing the attention of club scene aficionados and DJ's play lists in France, Sweden, Vienna, England, Japan and other areas world-wide. The songs were produced by Nicholson and highlight Charlie Hunt's abilities as a soulful and spirited vocalist. Radio commercial and jingle work followed.
Club, Dance and Electronic music experts had this to say... "Laid-back. Soulful. Melodic. These are three words that best describe this song. Appearing on Nite Groove’s Abstract Jazz Vol. III, its appeal warranted its own individual release with its own special mixes. Written and produced by Anthony Nicholson, who’s best known for his work with Ron Trent and USG, Nicholson makes the superb choice of using Charlotte Hunt for the vocals--adding more melodic happiness to this feel-good tune.
Then, in early 2005, Charlie and members of the band U.N.I. traveled with reggae artist Zeleke to Africa to take part in Africa Unite -- the monumental Bob Marley 60th Birthday Celebration in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Attended by thousands, broadcast to millions worldwide via the BBC and various tv/radio networks, and headlined by acts such as Angélique Kidjo, Baaba Maal, the I-Threes, Youssou N'Dour, Ziggy Marley, Stone Love Sound System, and others, the landmark concert took place on February 6th at Maskal Square.
The month long celebration was highlighted by this very special concert and the overall experience was, as Charli puts it, a "life altering" event. Hosted by the Bob Marley Foundation and Rita Marley Foundation, the Africa Unite celebrations were organized in collaboration with the African Union, the government of Ethiopia, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the World Bank and UNICEF. Later that year Charli joined Arlen Music Consultants (AMC) and began work with the consulting firms exclusive dance bands. -- (See Matt Reed Band http://www.arlenmusic.com/matt_reed/pages/home.htm)
AMC bands are famous for encompassing a variety of styles for corporate as well as wedding events. The most prestigious event for AMC to date is marked by a performance executed by the company's signature orchestra at President Bush's 2006 Inaugural Ball and regular New Year's Eve galas at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
In April ('08) Charli and the UNI Band were the opening act for Toots & The Maytals on a Chicago date of his recent US Tour. "That was an amazing experience," she says, "Toots fans are so dedicated and loyal and it's for good reason... his music is powerful and full of soulful energy. He gets the people moving their feet."
When not making music, Charli does studio session performances and writes music for other artists. She is currently playing out in support of a solo production.

Charli, I'm amazed how your vocal is steady developing! i'm also convinced (since you've worked with myself) that there isnt any music genre or style that you can't handle.
