Currently listening to a lot of the CLARK SISTERS; Especially DORINDA CLARK COLE, and KAREN CLARK SHEARD; Love that DOTTIE PEOPLES, THE WINANS ( all of them-- BEBE, CECE, VICKI ...THE BROTHERS WINANS, MOM AND POPS!), SMOKIE NORVUL and SHIRLEY CEASAR...My GOD, that woman can MINISTER and SING and Shout a while! I LOVE BRAZILIAN MUSIC! Tudo bem, voce..? LOOK OUT FOR MY MUSIC PAGE--COMING SOON!!!! ( THANKS, R. CALVO) Have listened to a LOT of Jazz, but I am kinda over it, except where the horn players are concerned: COLTRANE, CANNONBALL, SATCHMO, DAVE SANBORN, THE BRECKER BROTHERS ( PRAY FOR MICHAEL BRECKER). I do enjoy it, but after you have lived it, it kind of loses it pantina. LOVE R&B, and have rediscovered ARETHA FRANKLIN and her easy way of singing those major hits back in the day. Can't listen to a lot of Luther, since his passing. WE worked together and it still hurts that he has left us. BUT, he is the greatest singer and vocal arranger I have EVER worked with, and grew a LOT under his tuteledge. I love listening to the stuff I worked with him on. Love CLASSIC ROCK...Jimi Hendrix. Crosby-Stills-Nash, Beatles; Paul McCartney ( fave of the Fab Four) Me and my HUZBAN love that OLD SCHOOL R&B ( Chilites, Main Ingredient, Frankie Beverly and MAZE, All MOTOWN...GIRL GROUPS ( love the boxed set).... Not a crazy Show Tunes fan, but I like some of it.Movies
WATCH A WHOLE LOT OF TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES...can really spend a great deal of time watching and learning the craft just by watching GONE WITH THE WIND, ALL ABOUT EVE, ON THE 20TH CENTURY, IMITATION OF LIFE ( BOTH VERSIONS- Claudette Colbert, and Lana Turner)...The original Manchurian Canididate( Mahalia Jackson sings in a scene in it, and she is Amazing); Ball of Fire ( both the Gary Cooper and the Danny Kaye versions); THE 10 C0MMANDMENTS, JASON AND THE ARGONAUGHTS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, WHITE CHRISTMAS, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, THE PASSION OF CHRIST ( MEL G., You told the Greatest Story Ever Told!), THE GREATEST STORY EVERY TOLD ( w/ Max VonSydow)....all of the old RACE MOVIES.... CABIN IN THE SKY, GREEN PASTURES(...'Good Mornin' Lawd!') The list is too long to write....I love my BBC telly programs...Keeping Up Appearances, As Time Goes By, Waiting for GOD, Mine All Mine.Television
Benny Hill reruns; all of the BBC comedies...KEEPING UP APPEARANCES; AS TIME GOES BY ( w/Dame Judi Dench); ARE YOU BEING SERVED? ANYTHING PYTHONESQUE. SHRUBBERY!!!!! :-) TWILIGHT ZONE (0riginal), some TVLAND shows. I hate the 'L Word'. Love the Soprano's when I can catch it. I watch the soaps, but just to watch them chew the scenery: ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE; If I can catch the Soap Channel, I do watch reruns of RYAN"S HOPE...there was some GOOD ensemble acting on that show.Books

MAYA ANGELOU...an amazing woman who has survived the cruelty of racism and being raped as a young girl ( I know why the Caged Bird Sings), giving birth to her son and raising him to be a fine young man; going on to write and produce and perform in so many different mediums. She is a teacher, a sage and a mighty Woman of GOD! BARACK OBAMA--He is the Man Of The Hour... Coretta Scott King---for her courage and strength in the face of the civil rights movement and her husbands violent end. She was beautiful and full of wisdom and raised her kids alone, and set the example for many women that you can make it, if you put GOD first! Oprah Winfrey---her sheer will, and determination to overcome all she has had to, and she is a national icon. Her wit, and smarts and her largess is an inspiration to me. Bill Clinton---no matter what anyone says about him, he is a man who GOD used to be broken right before our eyes, and who did what he had to do, inspite of his human frailties. He stood strong, and he loves the African American peoples, because he was raised by a Black woman while his mother worked as a nurse!

When Bubbles get's naked I crack up lol. I am feeling much better. I have been taking your advice....rest, tea, vitamin c, chicken soup, and more rest and lots of prayer...and I am feeling better. It is just crazy 2 days ago it was in the 70's here and now back in the 30's. I have been wearing my scarf everywhere I go. Lord knows I don't want to get sicker. I needs my voice:) Hehehe I hope you are well!
