I don't get the chance to watch a lot of TV, which is probably a good thing. Once again my tastes are diverse: I love comedy, documentary, drama, and so on. About me:
Kia Ora, I'm Charlotte, originally from Aotearoa (New Zealand), now based in Europe (London). Anything but a MySpace newbie, I've been here for years, and boy have I learnt a lot from the experience! This is an older profile, and in many ways I'm a different person now than I once was; I was originally going to delete this profile and leave MySpace but instead I've decided to streamline this page and strip away the bulk of junk that once dwelled here. You won't find alot of photos of me on here, as I use other sites for all of my recent photos.
I used to be very active on MySpace, but these days my visits are less frequent, and I don't sign in too often so please understand if I take awhile to get back to you.
So who is Charlotte? I'm a vibrant yet peaceful soul; compassionate yet boldly outspoken, particularly when it comes to issues close to my heart. My mother - my best friend - recently passed away, and I'm determined to be the woman she always wanted me to be. I care about humanity, the environment and animals; I'm a vegan, and also a Nichiren Buddhist; a member of the lay organisation Soka Gakkai International. I'm very proud of who I am and the wonderful people I can call my friends. Anything else you want to know about me: you'll need to get to know me to find out :)

Long term: my mentor, Dr Daisaku Ikeda. But I doubt that's going to happen on MySpace, so I will continue to meet with him in my heart :)In the realm of MySpace, I'm interested in meeting all sorts of different people. I don't spend a lot of time online, so I'm not able to give too much time to online friendships. I have a wonderful boyfriend, and am not interested in chatting to anyone in a romantic sense. I was originall going to delete this page, but I've met a few great people on here, and had some great networking with others, so for those reasons and those reasons alone I will keep my profile.
I'd like to meet people of similar interests, but also people whose philosophies contrast sharply to mine. I'm always open to dialogue or a bit of debate, and I think that the key to peace is dialogue, and having an understanding of where other people are coming from. So whether you agree with my philosophy or strongly disagree with it, I'm happy to have you as a friend. I'll approve most friendship requests that come my way, as this is my "public" website that I use for networking with new people - I have other profiles for staying in touch with good friends. The condition of our friendship though is that we respect each other, and also each others friends: if you are disrespectful towards me or any of my friends, then I will just delete you.
I do from time to time post bulletins - about animals and the environment - as well as daily words of inspiration. If you don't want to receive any bulletins of this nature from me(you don't have to read bulletins, remember) then please don't add me as a friend. I'm being honest about who I am, but in the past people have requested me just because of how I look or something, and then gotten upset about my views.

Anyway, now that I've caught your attention, I just want you to know that this coming Friday's Animal Voices talkshow will feature I, me and myself. at: http://www.cancernz.org.nz/research/current-research-grants/ you can see research the cancer society is funding this year (as well as previous years) the last one for this year mentions the use of zebra fish as test subjects, and the other grants have obvious allusions to animal testing except where other methods are specified They also co-published a booklet some years back titled "animal research saves lives" (which has been thoroughly discredited) They also have multiple research contracts with the 'malaghan institute' of victoria university (in welly) who have previously conducted vivisection on mice for them. All the info is out there but it takes a lot of sifting through the PR to find it.

Veganism is at the core of the Animal Rights movement, but an improperly implemented vegan diet which causes health problems will discredit not only veganism, but the animal rights movement itself. Brenda Davis will discuss:

In 2003-2004, Brenda Davis and her then 15 year old son Cory travelled with Anthony Marr in his first (of 6) Compassion for Animals Road Expedition (CARE-tour), which covered 41 states in 7 months. Peter Muller is the head of the Coalition to Abolish Sport Hunting (CASH), and has been involved in wildlife protection since 1976. He has participated in patrolling posted land against hunters during hunting season, given presentations on the deleterious effects of hunting at various universities and other groups, published numerous articles on this topic, debated and educated on radio and TV. Peter is also President of LOHV (League of Humane voters), and PAC (Political Action Committee) whose mission is to support candidates for political office who promise their support of animal protective legislation.
