I am a Burlesque performer and Pin-Up model. I manage my own talent and produce a show called "Buckingham Burlesque". I design and make the majority of my hats, corsets and costumes. I work part-time bartending and as a (ventriliquist) puppet makers assistant for DanPayesPuppetry.com

I started performing Burlesque in 1989 when I moved to Hollywood. I needed a night job since I was going to Design School full time in Westwood, CA. At the age of 19, I was lucky enough to land a job at The 'old' Body Shop on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood when it was still one of the last ongoing Burlesque clubs in the country. It was truly different from the average nudie bars in LA. We were required to have elaborate costumes and acts which was perfect for me since I had been sewing since I was 10 and dancing in my bedroom my whole life dreaming of being a stripper! I was thrilled to find a 'strip club' that was like I had naively imagined "Stripping" would be like. "Burlesque" was a word I was introduced to there. Many comedians, magicians, and aspiring actresses got their start at The Body Shop. I worked alongside Kitten Natavidad before I even knew what a big deal she was!
I played it safe with my acts while working at The Body Shop, sticking mostly to a classic style at the request of the owner. 'Jamal' was quite the burlesque connesuier and ran a tight ship. After getting my degree, I left the Body Shop, but desired to be an entertainer more than a designer. I went back to singing in bands, went on tour with The White Trash Debutantes, and traveled quite a lot performing across the country as more of a feature act doing burlesque. I became more well known for my "performance art" style. Heavilly influenced by Alice Cooper, I began to do more blood, gore, and comedy acts. By the time the "Swing Craze" came about around 1995 I was so taken aback by 'The Squirrel Nut Zippers' music that it really changed my life and my acts. With more of a spring in my step and smile on my face I began to perform more lighthearted, fun, and cutesie acts. I really stood out amongst the modern day strip club dancers because I stuck to my guns and performed in a way that I enjoyed and respected. Sometimes at the cost of pissing off customers that wanted to see more, but usually at the sheer enjoyment of others who were surprised to see something so different. Burlesque was dead and gone at the time.
Then burlesque CAME BACK! Wow! I never thought that would ever happen! Suddenly it was OK to be a real performer again!...Thank Goodness! No more looking like a "freak" trying to put on a show for audiences that sometimes didn't know or understand "Burlesque". Now it's everywhere again and I am soooo thankfull!
Now days I like to stretch myself to do every kind of act I can think of or am inspired to do. I have about 35 acts now and they range from styles of the 1920's through the 1960's ( Well Alice Cooper counts as more of a 70's thing ) And all kinds of themes from 50's pin-up to 60's Space Girl, to Wizard of Oz, to Masquerade, to Day of the Dead, to Marie Antoinette. From blood and gore to comedy and seduction. It's all so fun and I am oh so glad there's such a wonderful audience for it now outside of the strip clubs!
