Here's music I LOVE (I can't say how much it influences my composing; probably all of it does to one degree or another):
the music of Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Faure, Debussy, Beethoven, Brahms, Ibert, Prokofiev, Stravinisky, Bach. Musicians/performers/singer-songwriters: Renee Fleming, Cassandra Wilson, Glenn Gould, Laurie Anderson, Jill Sobule, Murray Perahia, Mrs. Fun, Neil Young. It's a huge musical world; I love most of it.
I compose for the both the film and video game worlds. Music I wrote collaboratively with famed video game composer Tommy Tallarico -- "Poeta" -- is featured on the video game Advent Rising. "Poeta" was performed twice at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Video Games Live concerts in 2005 and 2006. I've scored films in many genres: drama, comedy, animation, film noir, and documentary. Films I've scored have appeared in such festivals as Smogdance, Hermosa Shorts, Pencil Head's Dusk Til Dawn, 48 Hour Film Project, and 12 Hour Film Race. In addition to my film and video game work, I've written numerous concert works for solo instruments and small ensembles.
